the air still feels damp when yasin steps out onto the road, surveying the aftermath of the previous night. he watches the townspeople already outside, helping each other clean up debris, repairing fences, patching up a town they can't even leave. it doesn't take long until someone pushes a broom into his hands, but every sweep feels pointless.
their first morning in town, his eye had caught onto a building tucked away off the main road, its sign barely readable -- county jail. it looked mostly abandoned, but yasin doesn't hesitate before dropping the broom on the ground and heading towards the building, throwing a quick glance over his shoulder to make sure nobody's watching. if the town has sheriffs, they have to have guns, and his gut tells him they're most likely kept in there.
he's not stupid enough to try anything in broad daylight, but he lingers at a distance, eyes flicking between the windows and the main entrance when a voice calls out from behind him, forcing him to pause and consider his next move. he turns around, gesturing towards the jail, "i thought i heard someone yelling for help. do you know if anyone's in there?"

where: outside, wherever when: day after the storm open starter
Lucas walks down the street, taking note of all the damage from the storm. So much to fix. It's starting to feel like it would be better just to rebuild the whole town from scratch.
He turns a corner and has to put his list away.
"Hey!" he calls out to the person. "You need help over there?"

one moment, she's right there; only a couple of feet from his outstretched hand. in another -- gone. he wants to scream. maybe he does. yasin can't really tell, the sound of the raging storm and collective panicking drowning out any sounds. soon, he feels a strong hand on his back, hurried footsteps guiding him inside the safety of a convenience store. the stranger is speaking to him, his mouth keeps moving, but yasin can only hear his own heart pounding, so hard it might just burst out of his chest. "... my girlfriend is still out there!" he manages to finally utter, pushing the man aside in his haste to unlock the door.

open to: everyone and anyone; so glad you're alright ( 1 / 3 ) location: he doesn't know. a convenience store maybe?
just where the hell did this storm come from? is his first thought. the second is, including all the monster that peak their head out and welcome the terrain that is darkness. just like everyone else, he's scrambling and trying his best to acquire some sort of shelter. well, not without helping people along the way. the rain definitely doesn't make the town easy to traverse, dirt turning into mud and the grass slick and easy to slip onto. there's one person he takes attention to. it's so natural the way he leads with a hand on their back to push and don't look behind, while he spots a cracked door to help heard them both inside. " a - are you alright?! " he doesn't even check over their shoulders, shutting the door with a fervor and even locking it by instinct. " that was... holy shit. what just happened? ... they weren't supposed to — "

who: yasin & suna (@sabancii) when: before the storm
it's still sinking in-- this place, the reality of their situation. who, or better yet, what he saw last night when he looked through the windows, still thinking the townspeople were suffering from some kind of shared psychosis. it's like his brain refuses to fully accept what he saw back then, wants to chalk it up to a horrible nightmare or a trick of the mind. but the creatures looked way too real to be discarded as just a figment of his imagination. for the first time in a long while, yasin isn't sure what to do.
... and then there's suna. with her there, everything is different. her presence means more responsibility, more risk. he's not just thinking about his own survival, has to take her safety into account with every decision he makes, and right now, it's like she doesn't even seem to realize that.
she said she'd be back soon, but that must've been at least twenty minutes ago. he knows she's easily distracted, but given the circumstances they're in, it just feels highly irresponsible. he walks through town, scanning the unfamiliar streets until finally, he spots her a bit further off the road, standing under a large willow tree with a few other people. the tension in his shoulders immediately eases, relief flooding through him that she looks to be okay. but it all quickly morphs into frustration as he watches her lead, what looks to be, a meditation circle.
for a moment, yasin just stands there, disbelief and irritation rising in his chest. it's so typical suna, and yet it annoys him now more than ever. walking up to the group, he grabs her wrist and pulls her to the side, ignoring the strange looks he receives. "i've been looking everywhere for you. you can't just walk off like that."

welcome to the crossroads, YASIN ÇELIK. another lost soul has stumbled across a fallen tree. at just 28 years old and hailing from BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, can we truly trust him? now that he’s in oblitus, he’ll have to rely on being PROACTIVE to survive. let’s hope his PIGHEADEDNESS doesn’t get in the way. currently, he’s a COMMUNITY DISHWASHER living in COLONY HOUSE.
basic information.
NAME: yasin çelik.    NICKNAMES: he doesn’t like it when people try to shorten his name (it makes his eyes twitch and ears ring), so will insist on only being called yasin.   BIRTHDAY & AGE : july 27 & 28.   HOMETOWN: boston, ma.    RELATIONSHIP STATUS: in a relationship with suna sabancı (@sabancii). FAMILY: only child. mother passed away when he was 12. his relationship with his father is strained to say the least.
personality.
POSITIVE TRAITS: proactive, outspoken, laid-back, courageous. NEGATIVE TRAITS: pigheaded, recalcitrant, controlling, lazy. HOBBIES: basketball, beer tasting, playing the piano. LIKES: house parties, cooking with friends, lambic beer, watching the sunrise. DISLIKES: authority, pretentious people, waking up early, reality tv. PINTEREST
where was your character when they saw the tree and the murder of crows?
yasin was driving home with his girlfriend, suna, when they encountered the fallen tree. they had just left her parents' home in greenwich; what was supposed to be a civil dinner party soon escalating into a physical confrontation between yasin and suna's brother. the drive is tense, air heavy with unspoken words and accusations. yasin doesn't look at suna. doesn't speak, just drives.
describe your character's first day in town.
they arrive while it's still daylight. after driving in circles for at least half an hour, they finally stop at benny's diner to ask for directions. yasin barely acknowledges suna's presence, heading straight to the bathrooms to clean the dried blood off his split lip. eventually, the patrons inform them that they aren’t allowed to leave. refusing to believe their crazed nonsense, yasin leaves anyway, while suna stays as she’s told. he spends the next couple of hours trying to find a way out of town, but no matter which turn he takes, he ends up exactly where he started.
what was their life like on the outside?
yasin lived in boston with his girlfriend, working as a bartender at an old dive bar. he'd never cared for material possessions or achieving success, had witnessed first hand how his mother literally worked herself to death with nothing to show for it. as such, to him life was meant to be enjoyed -- not endlessly worked for. he found happiness in the morning sun, shared laughter and late-night conversations with friends. his life was simple, but he was happy.
