TROPES AND THEMES

Futuristic steampunk, based on Nigeria, everyone is a bit morally gray, everyone is also a bit of a criminal, found family after everyone stops trying to kill each other, magic is illegal, a quest to a lost city, corrupt government, love triangle, slow burn, monsters roam the lands, reluctant heroes, the intersection of capitalism and magic, false antagonists, airships and clockwork towers, POC rep, LGBTQ rep, and disabled rep.

PREMISE

In the enigmatic city of Ojuwele, ruled by seven governors of the Convocation, the capital jewel Miamene and its sinister twin city Glaro, stand as the contrasting pillars where power, corruption, and technology converge in shadowy abundance. Daran Adami, a young high-ranking officer with a powerful lineage as the son of a Governor, secretly works as a member of Miamene's most shadowy and notorious gang, the Black Sun who bring justice to Ojuwele. But when a mission goes awry, Daran faces the choice to protect himself or loyalty to the gang headed by the girl he loves. But his fate takes a cruel twist when his capture leads to exile in the dreaded Outerlands, a desolate wasteland once home to an ancient tribe, now overrun by ruthless monsters. But in a desperate struggle for survival, dormant powers suddenly awake in Daran, which could hold the key to concealed truths and even his own past. In a narrow escape, Daran finds a young woman with a mysterious past and a charismatic religious leader he finds himself unexpectedly drawn to. With nothing to lose and a united purpose, they venture out into the ruins of a lost city which could hold the key to disurpting to social order of Ojuwele for good. But lurking in the shadows is an ancient evil that closes its grip on Daran's newfound power. In a race against time, Daran and his new allies must learn to protect their people, even in a country that has long forgotten them.

CURSED BODIES.

CURRENT PROGRESS ─ first draft. GENRE ─ new adult, paranormal, mystery. POV ─ split pov between five characters, past tense, third person. WARNINGS ─ death, blood, murder, torture, arson, manipulation, violence, guns, homophobia, drugging, sexual harassment, suicide/suicidal thoughts, mental and physical abuse, mentions of a past eating disorder, kidnapping + more to be added.

SUMMARY.

the ashford brothers were at war, regardless of whether or not the eldest of the two knew of the fact. but when theodore ashford returned to london and witnessed the death of mayumi sakamoto at the hands of his own brother, it changed everything. no longer could theo stand at his brother’s side and not see the murderer that nathaniel ashford had become. theo couldn’t look at himself without thinking, without knowing that she was dead because of what he couldn’t do. he wanted to make it right to her, but in doing so, unwillingly stepping into london’s criminal underground where he’s faced with the city’s most notorious criminals. and where most would’ve run, theo found an opportunity in their presence, because if theo wanted to take down a criminal, the best way to do so was to work alongside london’s most infamous.

Welp. There’s no other way to say it: I was hit by a semi-truck in a hit-and-run accident. I was stopped in the middle of the highway to try and assist a disabled vehicle that was blocking one-and-a-half lanes of a three-lane highway, and while I was on the phone with 911, after verifying that the driver of the other vehicle was okay, a semi-truck crashed into my little four-door car and smashed it into the already-disabled vehicle. That semi-truck then drove off. This all happened at 3 am on Feb 25th

The cops don’t have any leads on the semi right now (March 1st) and my insurance only covers liability, so... As of right now it’s looking like I'll still need to pay off my totaled vehicle ($6k). It’s shit.

Myself, my roommate (@the-unseelie-court-officialurt-official), and my fiance (@madmonksandmaenads) were all in the vehicle at the time, and we’ve all been discharged from the hospital, but we were all injured. We’ve got so many bills piling up. Anything helps.

hey yall i would deeply appreciate if you guys reblog this post! it would mean so much to me as i have finals coming up for school and getting this issue resolved somewhat would take some stress off me.

but hi i'm harriyanna hook and i am an overall entrepreneur and college student! i have my own youtube channel where i make videos about animations, kid shows, fandom, social issues, and nostalgia. on my instagram i do educational posts on both my business page and my instagram page. on my website, i have a blog, along with a shop where i sell products inspired by my favorite things.

this year youtube started to suppress my content and stopped pushing my videos out to my audience. i have gotten messages from people asking, "when are you gonna upload?" and i usually upload every other day so i know something it's right. youtube probably has me shadowbanned. usually, the traffic from my youtube channel goes to my other socials and my website, but because of this it hasn't. it's just been very frustrating has i put so much into my channel to get to the following i have all for that to no longer matter because youtube won't even push my videos out to those following me. its been more difficult for me to get work done because of how bad and painful the eczema on my hands has gotten this year (because of all the grief I've been dealing with and somethings caused by people who shall not be named). and often my hands bleed because of how much pain they're in. its become a bit more difficult for me to work with both my job and school so i would just appreciate if my views went back up so i would have that stress off my back.

Ali Hazelwood just admitted in an interview that her agent or editor or whoever basically feeds her a bunch of tropes they want to see and she has her hand held through the entire process of writing a book rather than putting in the work of having a remotely original idea and writing the manuscript herself and me n every other BIPOC author trying to get published are slamming our heads into walls because white mediocrity keeps winning
