The following is a quick look at the prologue for my upcoming psychological horror piece, scatter! You can expect a full, weekly release of this fanfiction starting in October of 2022!

Scatter. 

Monty McQueen knew he was cursed as he was pulled from his stock car, wrapped in a thick blanket, and given a cup of hot tea in the announcer’s booth of the Los Angeles International Speedway. Fire flashed in his mind’s eye as he stared absently at the television in the corner of the room, listening as a grim-faced reporter announced the news: “The King, Strip Weathers, was pronounced dead this evening after a deadly crash during his farewell season.”

Piston Inc. found him a therapist that specialized in PTSD out in San Francisco, not two weeks after the incident: Dr. Callahan was a tall man with graying brown hair and a scruffy, unshaven beard; his office smelled strongly of old, moldy books and coffee, and had the same kind of feeling as a century-old library. He sat behind a regal old mahogany desk, with an expensive fountain pen perched between his index and middle fingers. Absently, he pushed his aviator glasses up his nose.

“If you don’t mind,” Dr. Callahan said, “Why do you think you’re cursed?”

“I saw a man die, that day,” Monty replied. His voice was flat, emotionless.

My personal thoughts on Gortash because Dark Urge playthrough has got me feeling things. (inspired by concept art)

First off all : baby Flymm

Young Enver had short hair because you can't look at the lower city and tell me lice/and or fleas are not an issue in the summer time.

Had a lot of brains (artificers be tinkering) and a lot of attitude but exactly zero friends. (pre-charisma Gortash)

He had to grow into his ears.

Sold by parents. Teen G:

Long hair because it's not like Raphael or his jailers care about the grooming of their child slaves.

The actual start of "Gortash" because he is leveling his intelligence in the archives of HOH as well as learning how charisma can be used to manipulate and thus control people. (Harleep using sexual manipulation on envoys sent from arch devils, Raph using honeyed words to lure people into selling their souls, ect ect )

Duke Goratsh:

I like the idea that when he is rubbing elbows with the upper class of Baldur's Gate he has the slicked back hairstyle and outfit we see in the concept art. Always in control and impeccably dressed.

(except for one little peace of hair that won't be gelled down)

Makes a point of never looking "poor" again, so the Patriars and elite can't look down on his appearance or origins.

Casual Gortash:

The in-game design as we know it

Hair down, tits out, full of ink stains as he designs weapons and war machines for 3 days straight.

Actually likes having his tits out because he runs hot (probably cuz he's "burly" as the steamy in game letter says) ( also my durge runs cold ¬‿¬) but will only do so in the privacy of his own home/office.

Also looks like this when he is with Durge. Casual and comfortable but still (in his opinion) stylish. The concept arts in question:
