Mary had no choice, to be honest 😍😄

Matthew talks about his character Henry Talbot and his relationship with Lady Mary in Downton Abbey - Henry was "quite a modern man", of a different class to previous suitors, a racing driver who "gets the pulse racing a bit, quite a draw". He didn't immediately "fawn over Lady Mary" but there was a little "spark".

Well Mary would have been blind to be immune to Henry's irresitible charm or a fool to say no.

I love how behind the scene, dashing Henry leaves his tux behind and dons glasses and a lilac shirt to become adorable, gorgeous Matthew Goode 💜💜💜

"A Discovery of Witches" is now available to stream on Netflix (geolocation specific)!

It's one of my all-time favorite book-to-series ("All Souls Trilogy" by Deborah Harkness) productions - obvi co-starring Alex Kingston, as a witchy, sassy (hello, sweetie!), LGBT Auntie - and the entire series is just perfect?! Time travel, witches, vampires, werewolves, unrequited love, broken hearts, baddies, fab CGI, beautiful cast, great story...what more could you ask for?

CAST (some Doctor Who vets): Matthew Goode, Teresa Palmer, Alex Kingston, Lindsay Duncan (😍), Sophia Myles, Louise Brealey, James Purefoy (😍), Tom Hughes, Valerie Pettiford, Alysha Heart, Trevor Eve, Owen Teale, Paul Rhys...and on and on!

The first season was released in 2018 but there are 3 seasons altogether and it's absolutely worth the watch.

I'm on my fifth watch 🤓 since its initial release. So good!

"He whipped me betwen takes if I was getting it wrong"

Matthew is on top form in this delightful interview at London's Stoker première, utterly hilarious and adorable.

He talked about the theme of the film, bad blood that makes people do "naughty things" (yes Uncle Charlie was very naughty, no pudding for him lol), having a beer to relax after a hard day's filming (JUST the one and after he's put his daughter to bed!) and working with Director Park Chan Wook ("he whipped me betwen takes if I was getting it wrong" 🤣 ).

Love him, the best interviewee ever.

And as for the facial expressions, priceless. Here is a SMALL sample (the top right one is killing me):
