Transcend Time — Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: Past & Future is a charity art book focused on the past and future as its theme.

The artwork featured takes a deeper look at the life of Yugi and his friends, aside from what is seen of them in the “present” sense during the main story arcs. From Atem’s royal court in the past to KaibaCorp’s future in space—the spirit of duelling transcends time.

All proceeds of this art book will be going to the Hospital for Sick Children’s SickKids Foundation. Sick Kids is a major paediatric and teaching hospital that helps treat children around the globe. Check out their “VS” campaign launched to empower patients and their families against health challenges.

The date has finally arrived! We are pleased to announce that the contributor applications are now officially open. Please make sure to read our F.A.Q. and Schedule before applying.

• Who are we looking for?

Artists for illustrations and merch!

Note that we do not have a separate application for merch artists, as we’ve decided that merch will be made by already selected illustrators who are willing to contribute more.

• What can we offer?

Since the zine is for-profit, all the participants will receive equal financial compensation from the total earnings. You will be able to choose from two options:

1. Complimentary copy of the zine + remaining profits [over the expenses of printing and shipping]

2. Profits only

Note: Profits can be sent via paypal only, so if you don’t have one, you would have to be willing to make it if you want to receive your financial compensation. However, if you aren’t willing to make a paypal, you can still participate, but in that case, you can only receive the complimentary copy of the zine.

In the unlikely event that preorders don’t cover the expenses of complimentary zine copies, the main mods will cover for:

1. Printing and shipping the zine to all guest artists.

2. Printing the zine for all other contributors.

• Preparing your portfolio

Please prepare a Google Drive folder with at least three examples of the content you created. Make sure that the examples you provide are ones that best represent you as an artist.

Your portfolio doesn’t have to feature any sensei-related fanart, so just make sure that it’s your very best work.

Two out of three pieces should have a background (which doesn’t have to be detailed, we just want to get a sense of your skill)

If you are applying to be a comic artist, please provide examples of such work.

If you are also interested in being a merch artist, make sure to provide examples of the merch you’ve designed before.

Rock Lee SD cover comparisons

I took the cover off my new Rock Lee SD volume 1 manga, and I noticed it looked quite familiar.  Turns out, it was a mimic of the first volume of Naruto!

I decided to take off the rest of the manga covers, and I discovered they all mimic the covers of the Naruto series.

I love it!
