This would so happen in bestie verse. Reader would definitely comment on the absolute horrors of the modern dating scene while being completely unaware of the fact that Armand is fully listening.

I feel like that's a relatively common occurrence, too. Bestie says things to Louis without thinking twice about it and Armand is secretly squirreling the information away to use for his personal benefit.

He definitely thinks he's being a manipulative mastermind tugging on the strings of bestie's subconscious when, in reality, he's actually just being a good listener and then going out of his way to show that he knows her.

Louis during the 70’s used to lure men in with a promise of a hookup and drugs from a exclusively gay bar. Where would bestie meet Louis and how would he invite her to his home? Would his intention be to eat her? If not, then what else?

In the show we only see Louis eat men, do you think it’s because of his sexuality or is he just a feminist king who shows mercy to ladies. (… Doubt that since he used to pimp out women. Or do you think he feels guilty and wants to atone by not harming women anymore)

Would Armand freak out even more bc there’s a hot diva in their home where Louis usually does the nasty and then kills men??? Would he think: ”omg is louis so bored of men (me ☹️) he decided to experiment??? also why is the room getting hot when im around her omg wth”

These are such good questions! Tbh, the logistics of it all are part of the reason I haven't really written a 70's era bestie-verse story.

I don't think it's impossible to imagine a situation in which Louis could run into/meet bestie. Maybe not while actively looking for someone to lure back home to hook up with and then kill, but at some point. Maybe on his way to the bar or something.

As far as intentions, I'm not fully sure where I'd want to go with it. I can see a situation in which he smells her blood or hears her thoughts and feels oddly drawn to her is surprised by his desire to consume her blood specifically (lowkey giving twilight core 😭).

I can also see a situation in which he's passing by other bars/a busy area while on his way to go look for men and notices that she's in a bad situation and impulsively decides to help her because she spots him on the street and for a second thinks that he looks kind (similarly to how Louis reacted to Claudia's perception of him while she was dying).

No matter his intentions, he'd approach bestie very platonically. I can see them talking about music or something and Louis inviting her back to his place so that they can listen to music together and drink (and maybe do drugs bc it is the 70's).

I can see Louis and bestie having a drunk therapy session that ends with bestie falling asleep before Louis can get her elsewhere and Armand's first interaction with bestie is him walking in on her and Louis asleep next to each other.

Also, regarding us only seeing Louis eat men, I love labeling it as an act of feminism for fun, but in all honesty, I think a large part of Louis killing men is convenience. If he's looking for someone to hook up with before killing, it's going to be a man. Even if he's lying about his intentions of hooking up with someone, I think it'd still be easier for him to target men because his flirting would be more natural and less forced.

I do think the thought of Louis killing men to atone for the way he treated women in the past is so interesting. He struggles with guilt and his own morality so often, I can definitely see his food preferences being influenced by his past treatment of women. I don't think it'd necessarily be the primary motivator, but I can see it as a contributing factor.

Armand's reaction would be insane. I can imagine him walking in and expecting a male body and seeing a living girl asleep next to his companion. The first assumption is definitely that this is some targeted message about Louis being so "bored" with him he randomly decided to take a break from men to be petty.

Of course, it only takes two seconds of looking into bestie's mind to see that the night was definitely not like that at all, but the damage has been one. I can also see Armand being irrationally offended that Louis decided to make a friend now, like he'd take it as a sign of Louis being sick of him.

Also, love the thought of Armand still having a bit of a crush on bestie. The room starts to feel a little warmer, and he briefly forgets he’s mad and maybe even has a somewhat polite exchange before Louis wakes up 😭.

Anyway, this was a lot of fun to think about, so if anyone wants to talk about this more pls lmk :)

And this is exactly how it goes for bestie 😭 weirdly enough I think Armand could get through a first date with only a passive aggressive comment or two, but once the second and third dates start happening...yeah, that's when he's locking in.

Also, modern dating can be so exhausting, and she genuinely enjoys spending time with Armand and Louis so much that sometimes it's just easier to not actively date. (Also can't even imagine Armand and Louis meeting the person bestie's dating 😭 they are so unchill)

I can see her waking up one day and realizing that instead of going on dates she just hangs out with Armand and having a bit of a mental crisis. Definitely makes her wonder if her and Louis are accidentally sharing a boyfriend.
