My general headcanon for how majority of my iterator puppets are made is them being grafted beings

Different modified components like tissues and organs, cultured individually in scafolded extracellular matrices

To be eventually taken out and surgically grafted when sufficient growth is achieved, on inorganic structure, which is rather rudimentary compared to its organic components, serving as more of a supportive structure to which connects the iterator wiring, vasculations and commissures to the arm- and subsequently pathway to the rest of the superstructure

the rest of the oranic body envelops the structure

Inorganic structures differed model to model,

Some were fully simple, acting as stick bones that were joined to tendons, muscle to ligament

Some were "protective", bowl like? Serving as extended pelvises and ribcage that supported and protected vitals

Rarely, some were more exoskeletal in their inorganic structures, enveloping the organic components instead, this was largely for smaller, compacted lighter models

All providing decent plasticity

Later models were notable less organic and more "alien" inside with simplified viscera, almost lattice-sponge-like and wholly relying on the arm's connection to the structure to deliver APs and necessities where older models are more independent as a puppet

It signified an era of mass production

Unique circulatory systems to boot, closed or open systems tended to coralate to structural layout

The puppets typically lacked ducts or glands, homeostatic functions were performed by hormonal or nervous stimulation from superstructure sources

All in all, these efforts were unnecessary as these puppets were the mere personable sensory organ of a larger, more complex being

But the careful crafting of iterator puppets, careful consideration of their structure often allowed benefactor civilians to feel familiar and closer with their city overseer when their iterators are provided with a means to communicate physically and present their personalities

Including the other way around, allowing the iterator more atonamous freedom

(I like to imagine the skin, before being attached to other CTs is carefully decorated and personalised, one among the many artistic aspects of the puppet building process- also in this regard it's likely not keratinised, relying on other material that limits regenerative capabilities, nobody wants to clean that lmao)

It's like Frankenstein but worse and with extra steps
