Ok so rereading nothing more fanfic I can say

Jean realizes he's not in love with Tony as much as he thought he was. He fell for him when he was in a dark place and was just happy someone was showing him actual kindness. Feels like he's far too deep into the relationship and so he just continues to be with him

Tony starts to notice a shift in Jean's mood and starts to notice he's not as fun as he used to be

Jean is trying and failing to hide clinical depression

They get engaged and it is in public. Something Jean has expressed that he doesn't want in the past

Tony scared of being alone does it anyway knowing he won't say no

He gets a deep defeated sigh and "... okay"

They're actually doing this

They get married Tony is hungover during of the ceremony and drunk during the reception

He knows they're both unhappy but he's desperately trying to fix it

Tony forgets his vowels at home and free balls it

Jean is having a panic attack in the bathroom during the reception and is comforted and given a pep talk by Hector

He confesses to Hector that he loves him and his biggest regret is not waiting for him (waiting for what I don't know but he should have waited)

They end up having sex in the bathroom and they promise to keep it a secret (they weren't objects previously so Jean isn't bothered by the location)

The first year in they're already in couples therapy and have their own therapist

They both developed unhealthy coping skills drinking and smoking

On good days they do it together but mostly alone

Jean is the reluctant bread winner as a accountant manger

Tony somehow fails upward and works on a renovation show he doesn't host He's just a part of the renovation crew

They become more financially stable

They buy a house

Tony picks out the house and the car while Jean is left dealing with the mortgage, down payments, insurance fees and all the other adult stuff that Tony doesn't think about

They're stable for a time being

They mostly eat and watch TV in silence.

Sex life is non-existent with completely different libidos, turn-ons ons and turn-offs

Jean, being a little too critical and Tony being a little too selfish and just poor communication all around

They have their moments where they're together Jean reading one of Hector's books Tony on his computer making a secret dating profile and they enjoy each other's company

They get a dog

Tony gets without Jean's knowledge and finds it rolling his side of the bed

The dog ends like Jean a little more

Feeling unfulfilled emotionally, mentally and sexually at home Tony seeks his wants and needs out in bars and clubs. Jean knows this and doesn't really care which hurts Tony even more

Jean feels restful towards Tony and kinda hates him. He still feels immensely guilty knowing this could have been prevented if he had just said no and ended the relationship sparing them years of misery

Tony finds divorce papers in the nightstand halfway filled out. He hurts. He's angry, he feels like he's the only one trying in the relationship. Cheating, making bad choices anything to make Jean angry. He doesn't care if he's yelling or screaming he just wants communication and to tell him how he feels so he can fix it instead of the passive-aggressive indifference he's usually met with

Destroys the papers and leaves in the kitchen for Jean to find it

They have an amazing life-altering fight.

Jean confesses that he had sex with Hector on their wedding day and thinks about it often usually when he's drunk in the bathtub listening to his audiobook while Tony is out partying

Tony confesses he has a second life with a chick named Tina. He's been hiding a separate bank account, house, and car from him. He visits her when he can't stand to be around him

It's ugly, they're crying, they're screaming.

And then they have what could only be considered the worst and most awkward gay sex afterwards

And they just act like nothing happened

People can understand the underlying motive of characters that are terrible people, and still dislike them, that doesn't mean they lack media literacy

Jax really isn't that complex of character as much as y'all like to think he is

I can understand that. Jack is self-sabotaging and pushing people away to protect himself and using the funny man archetype and denying his and the others in the circus's humanity, to cope with being in the circus instead of actually processing this, he'd rather treat it like it's a big game he's the funny one none this matters I can treat people how ever I want because they're toys to me

Just because people can understand the bad behavior doesn't mean people are going to justify them

Jax is an unlikable character. Why are you going to be surprised when people dislike him?

Seeing Jax hate after this episode makes me realize people just can't understand complex characters. Same can be said about Ragatha honestly.. tell me you don't have media literacy without telling me you don't have media literacy.
