Flynn took me on a nice walk yesterday! Lately, due to his health issues making him feel tired, Flynn's generally preferring to potter into town & back. On Friday though, he appeared to have A Plan. He marched out our front gate & dragged me directly to the woods...

Across the fields...

On up the farm track...

... which leads to one of our favourite places, looking out across the hills. We stopped here for quite a while. Our only company was a crow, a few pheasants & 2 hares.

Then it was time to head towards home, back across the fields...

The sun was setting as we approached the woods again, but we made it home in time for tea!

Flynn was pretty worn out last night (as was I!) but it was so good to get out in the countryside with him. I think he enjoyed himself :)

Māori Tā Moko face marking is a sacred practice among the indigenous tribes of New Zealand. Each Moko design was unique to each individual, (no two designs were ever the same as they were never duplicated) and signified a young man’s transition from childhood to manhood. As well as representing rank and status these marks also had significant meaning to the wearer, symbolically connecting them to their ancestors and lineage.

love this pic of a collection of votive body parts from the secret room in the archaeological museum of naples...like in my brain i know these are votive offerings but in my heart these are the wares of a humble penis merchant

“A kepenek is a Turkish traditional shepherd’s outer garment. It is a sleeveless, buttonless garment made of felt worn on the shoulders and covering the whole body from shoulders down. It is made of three parts: one for back and two (the same as the back, cut in half along the length) for the front. The parts are stitched together along the shoulder lines and all the way down. Usually white, a copenek may have some adornments.”
