IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE AWAKE RN

Lore! As I mentioned, I’ve been working on this comic during my lunch breaks for a few days now! There are lots of lore snippets I jot down for worldbuilding, and usually, I don’t share them but I thought you might like to see a bit more while I work on the game.

There are still more snippets that I’m not sure if I’ll turn into comics (because it’s a lot of work), whether to just leave the written bits, or maybe make a simpler comic to illustrate them. These include:

Weekly update + sneak peak

So just to keep you updated, here’s a bit about how the process works:

I start by sketching some placeholders and coding part of the dialogue for that scene.

Then, depending on the scene, I finish the art so I can check if anything needs to be adjusted like how it looks next to other sprites or with the transitions.

After that, I go back and tweak the transitions and dialogue, since sometimes the characters talk "slower" or interrupt each other depending on what’s happening.

Only once all of that is done do I start adding the sound effects and music!

I'll leave a little preview below so you can get a feel for how it's looking. Since there’s not much else to say beyond the sprites, I thought you might enjoy seeing how the steps come together!

Jester and the fifth one already have concept art and a full design, but I’m still making some adjustments to their outfits so for now, I just wanted to reveal a little sneak peek.

Jester has some patterns on their mask in purple, just like Harlequin’s whose are green.

You’ll be sneaking a few more peeks at these two soon!

i say with glee (also ramblings about oc and credits below the image)

Anyway their name/role is Mime!!

Their symbol or pin is a tear drop, their main color scheme is monochrome (just say black and white vro 🥀) and they do acrobatics for their shows

(Goes by they/them because I like my ambiguous gender ocs)

I lowk don’t know what else to add but fun fact they have hit the support beams or poles of their tent many times during their performances. They’d also do tricks in public for people to see and give a flyer to- promoting the circus and a way of them saying “if you want to see more of my tricks come to my show in the circus!” Type shit

Oh yeah they’re mute so they communicate through written words and possibly sign language (if I only knew sign language 😭)

Also yes, they’d be obsessed with the MC similar to Pierrot. They’d appear in front of them from dangling on a lamp pole or sum to give the MC a wave and then watch as they leave
