I completely forgot and can't find the username of the person who did the Genshin Impact x FNAF design of William Afton but I THANK THEM A LOT and will put the name as soon as I found it again. I thought that I saved the post on IG but I visibly forgot ,-,. (And if someone knows, please, share !)

Had fun to draw this, experimented a bit, still trying to figure out how to color and render things.

hey, long time admirer of your stuff! ive just been wondering, though, how exactly do you do your eyes? like.. obviously they're different from character to character, but how do you usually form them and whatnot?

heya thank you :) it's been a while since i answered one of these in depth but for you good anon i will try my best..... Here's the simple answer:

Here is some more thought-process/behind the scenes stuff:

Obviously head angle determines many things about drawing eyes; I've been trying harder to keep it in mind when I'm putting lines down, and it'll generally make them look more grounded/offer better depth. The main takeaway from head angle is how are the eye sockets oriented. Doing drawovers of photographs is a cheap+easy way to get a feel for this, but I wouldn't worry about 100% anatomical accuracy; what I'm trying to get a feel for is the placement of eyes versus the brow/nose bridges.

The amount of detail I put into eyes is wildly inconsistent haha it rly depends on the piece and art style, but the (for lack of a better word) "definition lines" and spots of black in deep shadow make up most of the detailed stuff. I'm still not great at drawing massively distinctive eye shapes but I try to maintain a general sense of one for different faces (ex. Rectangular, narrow, round, angled up or down). I'll also be the first to admit it takes a lot of conscious thought to reproduce the same line variation/angles in someone's eyes each time you draw them, but if you're looking for advice on consistency those are examples of traits I'd keep in mind.

That's it for the most part.... I don't think the way I draw eyes is particularly unique lol so here are a few things that have gotten me where I am:

other people's art, a lot of which is manga. when I say naruto taught me to draw im only half joking hwheeze. my art tastes lean towards manga/comic stylization so none of this is hugely realistic overall....

that being said, I do like the more realistic side of manga/comic art so photo studies/anatomy tips have still been useful to me

this tutorial by sinix is one of my favorite things ever, because it explicitly discusses both anatomical knowledge AND how to translate that into shorthand

[ DOODLE ] - Afton (FNAF movie)

I tried to make a warm-up with just a ink pen with no sketch under and was shocked to do this in 15 min. That was one of the many exercise my academy teacher kind of wanted me to do, because I get too perfectionist even for doodles or any kid of sketches. And it blocks me in creating at so many levels. Sometimes to just even start. This time I basically told myself that I didn't care about the end result, that it was just to warm-up before another one.

Well... moral of the story, don't expect results. Live the process. Live the drawing. The result will come on its own or not, but making it is the most important anyway.

All of this ramble for a 15 min William Afton doodle ahah.

Anyway trust your hand sometimes not your head.

Well, creating again it seems! It's all thanks my lovely fiancé @time-alien who always inspires me and gives me the strength to be more confident about myself and my art. Enough personal talk, who are those lil guys? The one on the left is William Afton, an AU of @time-alien, design to be updated in the character sheets I'm about to make! This AU owns a restaurant (called the "Freddy's") and I'm not spoiling the rest but it's easy to guess hehe. The one on the right is Zachary Larson, my OC, a detective that works on several cold cases, including one surrounding the Freddy's. I'm obsessed by them, so there'll be definitely a lot more coming soon. :D All I can say is it's very gay and angst and everything that I love in summary.

@wip i have a tumblr feature suggestion!!

Right now, Twitter (or whatever it’s called now) is the only social app that allows PRIVATE ACCOUNTS (instagram doesn’t count because you can’t have text posts. You expect me to post an image every time I want to vent? Facebook also doesn’t count because I hate it.)

I know we have the ability currently to make our side blogs private, but here’s the issue with that for me:

1. They can’t be FOLLOWED, you can apparently only add “members” to the blog.

2. I thought I had more points but really it keeps coming back to the fact that they can’t be followed. I don’t want to put in a password every time I want to check in on a friend. The convenience of making your own private blog and following your friends’ private blogs cannot be overstated. It’s the ONE THING that’s keeping me attached to twitter.

What’s so great about having a private blog?

Safety. Toggle your blog to “Private” in Visibility settings if you need a breather from outside attention. Only your followers will be able to see any new posts you make. Old posts will still be visible outside your blog however, similar to when a blog is deactivated I assume.

Friends-only space. Sharing thoughts and art with only a few close friends is more comfortable for a lot of people.

Actual privacy. Even if you have 0 followers, even if you don’t use tags, the tumblr search will still pull up any word used in the post itself, meaning if someone searches the right thing, your posts could still show up to anyone. Setting your blog to private would remove this concern.

Journaling. Private twitters are nice, but a private tumblr? Getting to write out a BIG LENGTHY RANT for only close friends? Hell yea

Keep explicit content away from those who don’t want to see it. Setting a blog to private is a great way to keep certain art and writings out of easily reachable spaces.

Another bridged gap between twitter and tumblr. Ok listen. I’m not necessarily advocating for every twitter user to join tumblr. But I know that’s something the tumblr staff is interested in, so I’m adding it here for that reason. I for one would ditch twitter in a heartbeat if I could have a private blog, and would probably have an easier time convincing some straggling friends to join for a feature like this. Just sayin

🇺🇸 @cusstardii is doing a DTIYS on Instagram and I just HAD to jump on it. Their comic is so good, and the style is on point.

I got very inspired with this illustration and did experiment a bit more rendering with it!

Still searching myself, so this is definitely the best practice. I try to find a style that I both like to create and make (it sounds the same but it's very two distinct things to me! And sometimes you like creating, but not making it and vice versa, like you like the result but not the process, to be more clear!). Anyway this was very fun and inspiring!

J'ai été super inspiré par cette illustration et j'ai un petit plus expérimenté avec un style/rendu.

Je me cherche toujours niveau style, j'essaie de trouver ce que j'aime créer mais aime aussi faire (deux choses différentes ahah... des fois ça match pas. Parfois t'aimes le résultat, mais pas le process pour y arriver, si tu vois c'que je veux dire), donc c'était définitivement le meilleur exo pour.
