Yes, this author does write romances, but unfortunately our idea of a romance book has been so skewed by a genre full of indulgent emotional pornography that we forget a love story can be a good, beautiful, and true portrayal of a vital element for the building of a healthy society.

Favorite color: Blue and pink
Currently reading: The Karamazov Brothers by Dostoyevsky
Last song: Do what I want by Monsta X. It came out today!!
Last film: The Bad Guys 2. Very fun but underrated animation movie!!!!! First animated movie in years that I genuinely liked and laughed at.
Sweet, Salty or Sour: Salty
Coffee or tea: Tea (I'm coffee intolerant)
Working on: some writing and drawing, and contemplating whether to apply to a contest.
I tag anyone who wants to :)
Tag Game: Get to Know Me
Jumping on the open tag by @corinneglass (lovely moot go check her out)
Favourite Colour: Dark blues, black and silver. I am partial to lighter blues and purples, but otherwise those are my go-to favorites. I like to joke that I dress like a closet emo kid, especially my freshman year in college.
Current Read: For physical books it's The Path of Daggers by Robert Jordan. Book 8/14 of the Wheel of Time. I'm almost done with it. For audiobooks I just started listening to The Hollow Boy by Jonathan Stroud. I'm probably gonna read Vengeful by V.E. Schwab next, it's been at the top of my list for ages.
Last Song: Rolling in the Deep by Adele (technically I didn't listen to it last (that was To Make You Feel My Love by Adele) BUT I sang the whole thing while folding laundry as I have the lyrics memorized so I'm counting it)
Last Film: Spirited Away from Studio Ghibli. First time I watched it! 10/10 would watch again, Chihiro has my heart.
Sweet/Salty/Sour: Ooooo Imma go with sour
Coffee or Tea: I like both :) I've been taking my coffee with hazelnut creamer lately and it's soooo good but since it's summer I've rediscovered iced tea. My place of employment has a really good black tea we make iced and I like adding lavender and lemonade to make a sort of Arnold Palmer drink, it's really good. Currently I'm drinking an iced hibiscus lemon tea that's absolutely delicious.
Currently Working on: I entered a writing contest so I've been brainstorming and testing out drabbles that fit the prompts these past few days. I can't say anything more but I'm excited
No pressure-tags! @kishinosato @sorrowful-hyacinth @loreleiloon @marian-devotee @melpomenelamusa and as usual open tag! :D

It took me decades to realize I never understood God’s grace, only his mercy. To me, grace was God looking at me - in all of my sin, my apathy, my shame - and saying, “I forgive you. I’ll waive the punishment. You may live your life.” That’s mercy though, not grace.
If mercy is underserved forgiveness, grace is undeserved abundance, favor. Grace goes one step farther, saying, “I will do more than forgive. I will enliven you with vibrance and purpose and kindness and joy; I will cherish and uplift and protect and multiply.”
Grace is excessive. It’s unnecessary. It’s underserved favor. God doesn’t just forgive the villain; he adopts him and entrusts him with the kingdom.

catholic guilt this catholic guilt that.
what about catholic grace!!! in the open arms of Christ on the cross, in the words "Body of Christ", in the kind face of a priest when you step into the confessional!!
what about catholic glory!!! in the towering cathedrals, in the ornate gold vessels made to hold the Lord, in the relics of saints who have died but are alive in Christ!!
what about catholic joy!!! in laughing over coffee with friends after Mass, in singing hymns as one voice, in the feeling of stepping into any church anywhere in the world and knowing you're at home!!

For every claim about Pagan survivals in European / North American folk traditions and holidays, it's important to remember that there are at least three layers of cruft on top:
Sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Protestants trying to discredit Catholicism by claiming that it was secretly Pagan
Nineteenth-century Romanticists and Nationalists trying to construct an "authentic" volkisch identity by connecting everything to a remote pre-Christian (pre-Jewish) antiquity, and
Contemporary Neopagans and New Agers who want to maintain these traditions.

Being against the sexual degradation of women in terms of pornography/prostitution and just everyday life, used to be a very normal and valid opinion in feminism 30-40+ years ago.
But in the present day merely complaining about the hyper-sexualization of women, will get you called an ‘internalized misogynist’ ‘prude’ ‘frigid’ ‘anti-feminist’ ‘facist’ and the upsetting thing about it, is that it’s women saying it to each other.

"I made a story where all the characters have good and bad in them, and don't neatly fit into a good side or a bad side, to demonstrate that true good and evil don't really exist and it's all gray" ❌
"I made a story where all the characters have good and bad in them, and don't neatly fit into a good side or a bad side, to demonstrate that good and evil is bigger than people, that it exists in everyone, and that everyone has to choose between the two" ✅✅✅

“Discouragement is the enemy of your perseverance. If you don’t fight against discouragement, you will become pessimistic first and lukewarm afterwards. Be an optimist.”

after a lifetime of hearing about aragorn but not reading the books or watching the movies, genuinely nothing could have prepared me for his actual introduction. the hobbits picked this man out of a dumpster. he is a textbook softspoken angst prince and he is covered in dirt and he probably smells so bad. he’s the coolest man alive and is so casual about it. his number one skill is Knowing Where They Are and his number two skill is Having A Horrible Destiny That Torments Him. tolkien got it in one i’m afraid aragorn son of arathorn you are the guy of all time
