reading people has become second nature since becoming a profiler. even before joining the bau , there were times where spencer would just know things about the people around him. so , when someone who definitely had to be the new guy walked briskly into their workroom , there were several things he noticed right off the bat.

comfortable in his own skin , was what he had immediately noticed. had definitely been a jock at some point in his life -- football or basketball , maybe wrestling. a little late , but it was probably due to delays rather than a lack of care. had experience in law enforcement , definitely seems like an alpha male. ( absently , spencer wonders how the new agent and morgan were going to get along ).

it was all that he really had time for as the new team member made his way to him and introduced himself after clearing his throat. spencer smiled back at dinozzo , trying to welcome him the best he could.

' spencer reid and welcome to the bau , ' he says. ' some of the other team members got permission to leave to go get coffee and bagels , so they'll be back in about twenty minutes. ' maybe some doughnuts too if prentiss needles morgan enough. ' if you'd like some time to settle in , your desk is right here. ' spencer motions to the desk right across from his. ' or if you need to go talk to hotch , his office is right over there. ' spencer nods to hotch's office upstairs. ' but if you have any questions or concerns , i'd be happy to answer them. '

He wasn't going to lie. Part of the reason he'd gone to the FBI was to stick it to Slacks, to show the asshole that he could work there, that he was smart enough and talented enough to cut it with the big boys. So he hadn't applied to be on Fornell's team. Fornell was little game. Anybody could do what Fornell did. No, Tony needed more, needed to prove himself.

He applied to the BAU. It was interesting, profiling people. Kate had been their profiler, but she had lacked the ability to truly read people. She'd been trained to profile national security threats, not serial killers. No, that was where Tony had filled in the blanks. Profiling was interesting. He liked doing it. If he got the job, he would be more than happy to profile.

When he got the call from Hotchner telling him that he'd gotten the job, Tony was ecstatic. Leaving NCIS was ideal. It was time to go, time to sow new pastures.

Going through security was a hassle. Even though he was already a fed they had to make him jump through hoops. He'd arrived early because he knew it was going to be an issue, but by the time he finally made it through he was running late.

Walking into the BAU's bullpen, Tony noted that it was quieter than NCIS, and more muted. He didn't miss the orange walls. These walls wouldn't give him a headache. That was always a benefit.

He walked up to the first person he saw, clearing his throat.

"Hey, I'm Tony DiNozzo, I'm the new agent."

How the Todorokis call each other (Part 4)

So this is a recap of my previous posts (part 1, part 2, part 3) which merely list which terms they use with also listed the simplest translation possible. If you aren’t familiar with Japanese I recommend you to look at the previous posts to get a more accurate translation of the words listed.

Also I first listed the word/words they use to refer to the person in question regularly, then added an extra section to list the words they had used only once or twice, or solely under certain circumstances. Note that in the extra section the words are usually reported decontextualized, but context is OFTEN important to understand why they were used, so if you’re interested to a specific word I recommend you to go check the context in which it was used during the story in the previous posts.

Notably from this list I’ve left out how the Todoroki pluralize nouns because too tied to circumstances (if you're curious you can find it in part 3).

Also although I mentioned it in the other posts I’ve left out of this list how the Todorokis call other people because it was a guide nowhere near complete.
