20180511 - Succubus

Round 3 for MonsterMusuMay challenge, theme "Succubus"Can say that I am pleased with this one. For the first time, I used a hybrid Gradient Map coloring technique. It made coloring this really, REALLY easy~ Also, in other news, I will soon have a Patreon page online soon. I am just fixing up the logistics about the page and some plans about it. Will keep peeps updated~! And yes, I created my own May draw challenge.

It’s been a while hasn’t it, Tumblr?  Anywhoo, I have somewhat returned! I have at least 1 to 2 years worth of hidden sketches and doodles. Starting off with this little draw off with a pal of mine. We did a monster generator and he picked Goblin for this round; the first round being a Chupacabra but I will not release that one because I am unhappy on how it turned out. Anyways, enjoy~

Cavalry Sword

Maker: Johan Friedrich Raab (active in Germany)

Culture: German & British

Medium and techniques: wood, ray skin, silver, foil, leather, gilt, blued steel/burnished, etched

Measurements: overall length 106.87 cm; blade length 88.13 cm

Provenance: acquired from Bland, the sword-cutler

The sword features a burnished steel hilt with a faceted pommel and a spiral wooden grip covered with white rayskin and bound with silver foil. The one-edged blade has two fullers, gilt panel at hilt etched with strapwork and a shell motif, also with monogram, coronet, military trophy and inscriptions.
