These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.
Haven’t thought about these ding-dongs for probably 15 years, but there was a time when I was drawing them constantly.

I’ve never been more angered in my entire life, Way to kill the dynamic of power man and iron fist
POWER MAN AND IRON FIST
Drew up Luke Cage and Iron Fist’s new outfits from the comic (with some minor design changes) because they look so AWESOME. Also it will be a cold cold day in Hell before I draw a white Iron Fist.
Asian American Iron Fist forever!

What to do about artist block
Earlier I got the great question of “how to deal with artist block”
artist block is really hard to deal with sometimes and can be really demoralizing!
I have a few techniques tht I do on my own (especially since im a commercial/industrial artist) but they all start with (well technically NOT PANICKING, but also) this,
-dont stop making art! stopping can only make it worse! even if all you draw is squiggles and nonsense while watching tv, its always good to keep your hands moving till that hook catches. Don’t fret over every idea! Even if all you draw are ugly bad ideas, consider it cleaning the pipes for the better ones!
-make a playlist of music for the task at hand. if you know you have a specific topic you want to work on, making an inspirational soundtrack really helps bring up images in my mind! I OFTEN have sound tracks for art styles and subjects I am working on, spotify, grooveshark, or just plain itunes is a fine way of building up some other art/inspiration
-do an exercise! if youre struggling with ideas, its totally okay to give your self a task like “practice lighting” or “work on line contour” to help keep yourself moving AND it can improve you skills! often it can inspire a new piece or an interesting idea :) Sometimes the best pieces are just “trying to get that color contrast just right” and it helps distract from the anxiety of feeling “uninspired”
thats what I do at least! also totally going to share this, its a great question and as a concept artist, we have to draw on demand all subjects all the time!
so don’t be so hard on yourself, look to the inspiration around you. All art is a learning process and stressing out about it never helps
You can do it! and I love seeing new art from all you lovelies out there! Its tough work being an artist at all! so pat yourself on the back.
