new critical thought: is the celebrity that everyone is calling a ““fashion icon”” really that fashionable or are they just skinny and rich?

7.26.20, DC
DC protests have continued for 2 months nonstop against police violence and for Black Lives. Despite having a population greater than Vermont or Wyoming, DC’s statehood remains controversial among Republicans who can’t keep control of the government without multiple forms of voter suppresion.

Tilda Swinton risked arrest waving a rainbow flag in front of the Kremlin in violation of Russia’s new homosexual propaganda bill. And she wants everyone who can to reblog it in solidarity.
Guys please reblog this, it won’t ruin your blog, this is important

I am *horrified* by Alabama and Georgia banning access to safe abortion.
Abortion is the most common out-patient medical procedure in this country. 1 in 4 women will have one. Yet our experiences, our lives, our ability to make well-thought-out decisions are so utterly meaningless to the white supremacist capitalist patriarchy that a medical procedure SO MANY of us have need of has been banned.
It is terrifying to exist as a woman in the United States. I need the men in my life to take a moment to breathe that in and sit with it for a minute. Here, in the United States, it is terrifying to exist as a woman. To be hated and degraded and dismissed and distrusted so much.
To my sisters (and trans and non-binary comrads) in Alabama and Georgia, I feel your fear. I feel your rage. I stand beside you. They think they can treat us this way, but we know the strength it takes to rise and as we rise up together we will show them the consequences of underestimating our strength and solidarity.

I’m Angry
We deserve a choice. We deserve our rights to abortion, to equality, to be women. So in the light of all of these banning abortion bills, I’m angrier than I’ve almost ever been. But we have to speak up. I know you are out there- wonderful, beautiful people who know we have rights to be who we want to be and start families or not whenever we want to, if we even want to. We are lesser than NO ONE. We deserve our rights- don’t let them forget it.
We will fight, and we will keep fighting, and we will win. How many more of us are out there?
