my sparrow, post fable 2

they got real in their feelings after everything. drunkenly stumbled around for a solid 10 years, desperate and carelessly finding whatever they could to occupy them. they got their act together once they took over bowerstone; figured it would help them move forward and fufill that prophecy theresa told them about- avo damn her soul. did a shit ton of field work in their military campaign to 1) unite albion, and 2) shed the blood of pests. had a lot of fun during their exterminator era, and befriended their 3 closest allies- beck, swift, and turner- during the establishment of the old guard/their official crowing. turns out, they're one hell of a leader (when they have practical political support)

got back in semi-regular contact with garth, with the occasional visit back and forth for academic collaboration. eventually, he helped them with the tech behind the cullis gate, sanctuary, weapons, and gauntlets upon their request. most of it was for future preparations- but they got their fair use of it all. hammer stayed away and formed a new life for herself, but they wrote letters sometimes. she was proud of the unity and prosperity sparrow brought, at least, but didnt want much to do with any of it. sparrow understood. reaver did as reaver does. made a name for himself and continued with his usual schemes. he stayed out of politics, thankfully, but that doesn't mean he stayed away from the castle. he's the only guy who can do what he does with his hands AND accept a duel from sparrow without dying. may or may not have resulted in 2 oopsie babies that he had neither interest, nor responsibility in regards to. worked out just fine, tbh. generally improved and strengthened the economy of albion, being able to pursue ways to positively affect the quality of life for everyone. was a bit of a philanthropist, but preferred action over politics. controversial in methods, but beneficial overall, so no major complaints. plus, people liked the projects and campaigns they pursued. what can i say, they were a fun act to watch. walter and jasper were their fucking rocks for the majority of their life, now that i think about it. walter was a brother in arms, and perhaps the greatest friend they ever had. the typa comradery that omly comes from the homoerotic subtext of the lord of the rings- but i feel like it never evolved into anything beyond subtext and deep respect. sparrow wasnt gonna further complicate their new life when they already found themself in a stable, comfortable environment. old survival instincts, ig. walter's the same way. in the end, they supported one another, had eachothers backs, and were loyal as they come after 30 or so years of alliance. jasper came in a little later down the line, probs when logan was around 4 or so. he kept the castle in order, and basically carried the family. sparrow was an... ok parent (we all saw how logan turned out.). probably couldve been there more, but thats being king for ya (tbf theyve never raised a kid- let alone by themself, give them a break). jasper was the one who kept it all together, truthfully. especially when it came to baby #2, and their health started failing.

they had a ton of complicated feelings about their place in the world after awhile. the weariness from time and aging wounds weighed on their mind. its not like they aged like a normal person would- by all means they were only middle aged- but time and burdens are funny like that. they blamed theresa for awhile, got over it (but didnt really forgive her after thinking it over a few times), and just tried their best while making sense of everything- if not for them self, then for their kid... when they needed it (not like they knew which one would even be the hero, either) i think they planned on being there to guide and be there for them when it happened, but they got real sick when the hobw was 3 and logan was ~14. instead of being all bummed and emo about it like they wanted to (and had every right to, tbh), they sucked it up, left behind what they could, and let time claim them for real this time. this is for me- mostly. gathering what ive got so far and stringing it together in a somewhat cohesive way. there's more in-depth rambling on my blog im sure yall've already put up with. but yeah. cohesiveness
