the dark-eyed junco is a small member of the “new world” sparrow family; they are distributed across much of temperate north america, ranging into the arctic during summer months. these birds show lots of variation across their range; it’s unclear if these variations are closer to seperate subspecies or just color morphs, but most juncos share gray heads, necks, and breasts. males tend to have darker markings than females. they are typically ground feeders, and are often found looking for food in small groups or joining mixed-species flocks. they feed primarily on seeds and insects, and are a common visitor of backyard bird feeders.

Lil rant about everything, jumping from an idea to another 🐦 prob will delete later

Genuinely can't wait for the first half of july to be over o(-( I'm not really sure if I'm numb or can't tell what I feel, it's just so weird really, everything this year happened so fast. It's kind of the mid point where I have the chance to change everything in my life and it all feels like a fever dream. Or maybe I'm just overdramatic about it and it's not such a big deal. I don't know really, but what I do know is that I truly want to be a better person, that's kind of my whole thing since I realised I have my own thoughts. I know that can only happen by making a ton of mistakes, but it seems I keep forgetting taking that into account when judging myself. Mannn I'm so confused I swear. Sometimes I desire to punish myself even for the smallest of mistakes, in a way I feel spoiled as hell, not to mention privileged, which this at least I know it is indeed true. I kind of want to repay the kindess of everyone. Well if this world isn't beautiful o(-( I want to love and appreciate. However I have seemed to regress as of late. I don't know how to help myself and I'm a tiny (a whole lot) scared of getting actual professional help for a handful of reasons mmmmmm one day I'll take care of myself as well, I think.

Tbh I really hope not a lot of people read this, I don't need any consolation, nothing that people say will make me feel better, nor do I want to. I must get through this period of my life myself. Also I really don't want anyone to agree with me or diagree, it's just a rant for myself, not a debate with a clear coclusion, nor a case that requires opinions based on a yes or a no. Kind of like a public diary if you may. It's here only to be read, observed and to move on. I have to do this for myself.

I feel stuck, maybe? I am upset with myself a tiny bit. No actually not upset, I'm frustrated with myself, it's so hard to deal with me and I'M the one saying it.

Flame Robin (m) by Cam’s Birds Via Flickr: We were very surprised to encounter this bright male Flame Robin (Petroica phoenicea) in an area we’ve never seen this species before. He was hunting from a farm fence, away from forest remnants, jumping down into the nearby grass, before flying back up to the fence. He did not appear to have a partner nearby.

This one's not a native bird, but one of the permanent residents at the London Wetlands Centre. They always look so dramatic when you catch them in the middle of washing themselves.
