all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.

this post's hypothetical by itself is already ridiculous but the thing that gets me is how the wording implies two very funny things that become funnier in tandem

1. "Accidentally, the pitcher tosses a Christian baby" means this is a mistake on the pitcher's part. i imagine the pitcher is breastfeeding on the field and they pitch and they look down at their hands and they see the ball still in the glove and they go "fuck"

2. hitting the baby will still win you the game

Azriel and rapunzel,,, op your mind

My modern Azris HC obsession is Eris and Cassian constantly fighting over which one of them understands Azriel better - his best friend or his boyfriend:

Azriel's therapist suggests that revisiting childhood experiences — especially the ones he missed out on — might help him with his healing journey. Reclaiming a sense of safety and control that he never had when he was a child. Eris thinks that making a list would be good place to start rather than go diving in. Cassian, like a bull in a china shop, had figured a couple of Disney movies would be a harmless start.

It had not been harmless.

Twenty minutes into Tangled, Azriel had quietly asked if they could turn it off. Cassian told him to hang in there — that it would get better, and besides, the talking chameleon was funny. In Cassian's defence, he thought it was about some happy-go-lucky thief and didn’t realise it was a movie about some poor kid locked in a tower by her psychotic fake mother.

Then Az had started crying.

Not just a tear or two — full-body, sobbing like some sort of trauma floodgate had finally snapped open. Cassian had no idea what to do, he’d never seen Az cry. Ever. Not even his “Rapunzel gets out, I Googled it!” reassurance had helped.

Eventually, he had to admit defeat and begrudgingly call Eris who had come straight over. He made tea, sat with Azriel until he stopped shaking, tucked him into bed like it was the most natural thing in the world — and then kicked Cassian out of the apartment. But not before they spent ten minutes arguing with each other and then another five trying to punch each other.

Quite frankly, Eris should just be grateful that Cass didn’t start with Dumbo.

the word empathy is WIDELY misused, even in mental health spaces. 

empathy:

is responding to a person’s emotions by experiencing the same emotion as them (i.e. feeling sad when something sad happens to that person, or happy when something happy happens to that person.)

is an automatic response that cannot be controlled

cannot be learned

sympathy:

is recognizing that another person is in pain, even if you do not experience that pain, and offering comfort to that person

is something a person must actively choose to do

can be learned

compassion:

is showcasing care and support via words and actions

is something a person must actively choose to do

can be learned

if you need an example of a person with no empathy who practices sympathy and compassion, look no further than data from star trek: the next generation. he doesn’t have emotions at all, but he’s still kind to people and wants to help them.

stop telling people that they’re evil because they don’t experience empathy. stop equating empathy with morality. stop equating empathy with caring. stop saying that cruel people “lack empathy.” stop throwing neurodivergent and mentally ill people under the bus.
