I’m seeing Chishiya get a lot of credit for carrying his games (which he deserves, he absolutely fucking soloed), but I think y’all are sleeping on Kuina tbh. My girl was out here never giving up on her friends, kicking absolute ass in her games, keeping focused on why she was still fighting, maintaining a positive attitude like 90% of the time. And she did all of it while fully committed to the bikini top fit. Put some respect on her name QUICKLY

the entire point of the drinking/dancing scene, narratively, was to establish that ava had it bad for beatrice and I personally love that for us

Can we just take a second to appreciate the growth of Ava’s protective instinct towards Beatrice over these past 2 seasons because it’s suPERb. In season 1 we see the first time Ava reacted, completely subconsciously, to Beatrice in danger
at this point she’s not aware of her emotional connection to the halo’s power, and has way less control of what happens - so even though she does shatter the bullet and save Bea’s life, she also blows everything in the room backwards including herself. Even Beatrice gets pushed back (although super softly) as you can see her recover briefly to run over to Ava after
THEN we start to get spicier protection in season 2 when Ava does react with more understanding of the halo’s power and her feelings towards Beatrice, and not only does she accomplish a much harder goal (poofing away a demon???)
but this time Ava able to handle the blast AND it doesn’t get anywhere close to Beatrice. She does clearly have a blowing back effect on people next to her (cue Miguel/Michael folding like a lawn chair part 1) but Ava is learning to control the power of the halo and how to use it to protect specific people… or in her case specifically Beatrice
and then of COURSE because third times the charm, the last one is my favorite. This time it’s intentional, Beatrice knows Ava can control the power and she tells Ava to let go, and Ava nods AND pulls Beatrice in telling her to hold on
WHICH if we look at past experience showing Ava having a forceful blast that surrounds her after using her power, her instinct should initially be to tell Beatrice (and Michael I guess) to run so that they don’t get hurt, but she knows at this point that whatever power she releases won’t hurt Beatrice because Ava would never let it. I mean look at Michael ! ! !
Dude folds like a lawn chair (PART 2) as if he were one of the possessed enemies Ava is releasing a blast towards. Even though Ava thinks logically she’ll be able to protect both of them, her internal instincts are only thinking of protecting Beatrice in the moment and the halo’s blast reflects that.
Bonus is watching them walk away without a second glance at anyone because to them, as long as they’re both safe, it’s mission accomplished:
Thanks I’ll be here till 2049 talking about this show and couple

Can we just talk about the differences in Beatrice’s character between these two fight scenes?
In season 1, Beatrice is the one who is the moral compass of the group. She’s always keen on the mission and the mission alone. During that particular hallway fight, she only injured her opponents. The goal was to retrieve the divinium shield which doesn’t mean much to her personally but that doesn’t matter because it was a mission for the good of the OCS. So, she kept the damage to a minimum. Season 1 Beatrice puts her personal opinions and feelings aside for the good of The Order. It’s just how she operates given what we know about her past.
In season 2, we see parts of Beatrice start to open up (mostly due to falling for and being around Ava). There’s times where she lets her emotions get in the way of the mission. For example, when she kept Ava from detonating the divinium bomb. When the mission went to hell, she immediately retreated to her old way of thinking. She kept her personal opinions and feelings to the back of her mind. That’s why she said she couldn’t go with Ava when she told her to run and hide. In the season 2 hallway fight, Beatrice’s mind laser focused on getting to Ava. They had kissed for the first time not long before and everything after that became clear to Beatrice. She wasn’t going to lose Ava like this. It may not look it by her expression, but Beatrice is all amped on her emotions at this point. She warned those who kept her from getting to Ava because Beatrice is still the moral one. When they refused to walk away, there was bloodshed. All because she wanted to get to the Warrior Nun. HER Warrior Nun. Her Ava. ❤️
Also, the colors! The left side is blue which to me symbolized Beatrice’s stern and contained nature. It can often be seen as cold. No emotions. The right side is yellow. Maybe orange. Leads me to view this as Beatrice’s inner fire (like the woman in the bar said) burning to be free, finally being let out like an inferno. All emotions on high.
I love characters like Beatrice who walk the lines of nobility and who are considered the moral one. When it comes to those they love getting hurt/possibly dying, they unleash this deadly dangerous side to them in order to protect the ones they love.

me in 6 years: Clarke and Lexa should have gotten a goodbye kiss, like you're saying i should believe that Clarke would have just let her walk away with nothing??
me in 27 years: she never thought she'd see Lexa again, she tells her as much, but now she's here by her side against all odds, her protector and her rock, this gallant beautiful warrior who vowed on her knees to put Clarke first who LOVES HER and is about to give her life (again) for her (but not for her again because this show is ass and she died for literally no reason the first time wtf)
me in 43 years: and you think i'd believe that Clarke would let Lexa leave WITHOUT throwing her arms around her neck in one last desperate kiss, a searing brand on her lips that she'll cling to for the rest of her life because she's saying goodbye to Lexa, to her soulmate, to the woman who is the embodiment of every hope she's had for her future, and her goodbye is for real this time it's forever and this is the last glimpse she'll ever have of their "maybe someday"???
me on my deathbed: i'm telling you it's buLLSHI-- [goes into cardiac arrest]
