No one talks about the mental toll of looking for work. Continually being ignored or receiving responses that say they are moving on reminds you that you’re not good enough. On top of this, there’s the nerve-wracking need to find new clients, hoping they don’t ghost you, flip out on you, or make you beg for payment. The past couple of months have been full of ups and downs. It’s been a lot of mentally not wanting to get out of bed to work on anything because what’s the point, it’s not good enough or being continually rejected. It’s hard, mentally exhausting, with long nights and early mornings. I’ve started to realize why we’re called “starving artists” and why many decided to give up and peace themselves out. Though almost every single day I think it’s time to just give up and take another miserable job. But, then I remember I have another amazing mini human who depends on me, along with many others. Also, who’s going to fill the mini fridge with blue pop and fill the snack rack? I’m determined to climb this ridiculous mountain, and keep striving to make it to the top despite every single obstacle trying to knock me down telling me I’m not good enough. I know it will be a while before I make it to the top, but I’ll make it one day. Until then, I’ll pour another cup of ambition and just continue figuring it all out. #OneDayAtATime

One of my favorite parts about being a mom is seeing her meet her goals 🥰 She’s been working towards being responsible enough to go out on her own. She has to check in every X minutes; if she doesn’t, she loses time, and eventually, it’s no time. But slowly, she’s becoming more independent, with longer stretches between check-ins. Soon, she’ll have her wings to fly, and she’ll check in when she needs to 😊 As of right now, it’s a constant stream of questions like, “Where is this?” and “Do I have something today?” 😒

I think one thing no one talks about in motherhood is how, when our kids really want something, we do everything we can to make it happen. From shopping sales, selling unused items, and buying groceries on sale with specific credit cards for extra cash back, to working extra hours or jobs, we find every possible way to save and earn that cash back to make it happen. I also have to say, if it weren’t for notes apps to keep it mostly straight, I’d be lost. But still, it makes all the memories even more special. Zoie really wanted a Hershey Park summer, especially with her cousins. I’m so thankful we can give this to them @marie_chanh that this year 🖤🫀 #Thankful #Cousins #Motherhood
