I’m glad I could make you feel better rn 🫶 I’m in very much the same boat, I’m going to wait to see what happens after the backlash to see whether I’ll be reinvested in the show or not. I also love Buck and all of the other characters, but their arcs this season have just been lackluster and even moving characters backwards in some ways (especially if what the post episode interviews are saying are true) so I’ll wait and see with you for what’s going to happen next and whether I’ll even be watching again.

I started following you for your bucktommy content and I just wanna say - as someone who got back into fandom in general because of their relationship and as someone who gets it - I’m so sorry for the latest episode. I hope one day you can make fix-it’s when it’s not so painful and I genuinely hope we’re all being faked out and this is just the third act of the rom com we were promised where the main couple break up but ultimately get back together.

I'm also hopeful, bc narration is left the door open, and interviews are actually shitty in actually saying what is going on next, but I don't want to set myself to heartbreak so i hope not too much and taking the break from the show at least till i know what they are doing with Buck by my mutuals and Tumblr. I love him, I love the show, but this season is pretty trashy even without bucktommy shit and i don't want to watch for now. Definitely not when it airs. I'll wait at least till midseason finale to think what I'll do next with it. I think if I like at least like some of the arcs I'll watch but without investing too much. Bc really the storytelling and rhythm of the show this season is so trashy it makes me not enjoy it. And I don't want to fet invested in the show that does shit like this

I really think, with the general dislike of the episode’s ending, that there will be an attempt at damage control when it comes to the last episodes of the season. If ratings flop and the question of whether there will be a renewal or not pops up, there’s room to fix what has happened. Until those hopes are confirmed, tho, I really don’t think the other plot lines in this season are strong enough to keep watching. Maybe when I’m less sad about what happened I can use the fix-it fics that are coming to get through grieving not just the beautiful relationship, but Tommy Kinard and how Lou was treated through all of this.

While my last post for Nader's family's campaign got to 4,000+ notes, it quickly slowed in donations, and the poll got 7,000+ votes. This means a lot of people did stop to look at the post because of the poll, but not interact much beyond that, which is disheartening considering a lot of people on here post about Gaza.

Buck is a chef on one of those below deck shows and Tommy is the new deckhand that all of the guests keep wanting to hang out with, cue jealousy arch

ohhhhh okay okay with the caveat that i have half watched one of these shows a few times because my wife is obsessed but i find the interpersonal drama e x t r e m e l y stressful (but this is a super cute idea!)

tommy is really NOT that thrilled about all the attention from the guests because they're mostly rich, drunk assholes so he tries to hide out in the kitchen (galley? maybe? i am NOT a boat person and i AM wine drunk right now) a few times, hoping it'll come with the added bonus of getting to know the extremely hot chef a little better. except the hot chef hates him, apparently, so he gives up on that fairly quickly and buck tells himself he's relieved about that, yep, absolutely relieved

he's definitely not inexplicably annoyed at tommy's sudden absence and if he is it's just because everything about tommy is annoying, from his height to his muscles to his stupid sense of humour to the fact that EVERYONE LIKES HIM. buck hates it a lot

in between charters they're all hanging out and tommy sees buck dive off the boat in nothing but swimwear that's so immodest it should be illegal and he promptly walks into [insert piece of boat equipment here] and lands on his ass. chim, who worked a few charters with tommy years back and is not used to this deeply, deeply uncool side of the guy, laughs so hard he cries

DEFINITELY a scene of tommy shirtless while he's helping clear up after a nightmare charter that prompts buck to go talk to captain bobby [of course] about inappropriate workplace attire. bobby just looks at him until buck slinks away. he tries to complain to eddie but eddie thinks tommy is soooo cool

it all comes to a head when they're ashore for a crew night out and buck overhears tommy, a little drunk and a lot maudlin, complaining to hen about i've tried everything i don't know why he hates me so much, i just want to get to know him, he's such a fucking ray of sunshine with everyone else but he hates my guts and i don't know what i did. he feels awful and gets tommy alone to clear the air but the whole time he's just thinking stubble arms eyes chest cleft cleft cleft and instead of talking, plants an earth-shattering, turn-the-world-upside-down kiss on him. tommy's just buffering for a second because maybe he thought right at the start that there was a spark but what so there's just enough of a pause that buck starts to spiral before tommy pulls him back in and the second kiss is just as much of a revelation because oh, of course, of course this was the problem all along, they weren't doing this from the second they met

they, of course, get on a lot better after this. buck's still kind of jealous when the charter guests are hanging off tommy's every word (and would be hanging off his biceps if they got the chance, goddamnit) but at least he understands why now

A Year of Genocide

The Civil Defense Directorate in the Gaza Strip published statistics for the year of genocide on the Gaza Strip, which can be found in English and Arabic in the attached PDFs, or as a Flipbook here.

In the last year, 3,654 massacres were committed by the enemy, resulting in over 51,870 martyrs and missing people. 902 families were erased from the civil registry, and 36 were martyred by starvation. From these, 986 martyrs were medical staff, or about 1 in every 40 known martyr, 175 martyrs were journalists, and 85 are civil defense officers. 2,300 of these bodies were stolen by the IOF from 19 out of 60 cemeteries.

149,036 Gazans are either martyred, wounded, or missing, 69% of them children and women. 187 displacement shelters were targeted by the IOF, including 27 in the last two days.

462 schools and universities have been destroyed by the occupation, and 12,700 of the martyrs were students, while 750 of them were teachers, and 130 of them scientists and academics.

34 hospitals, 80 health centers, and 162 health centers were taken out of service, and 131 ambulances were targeted.

Out of 1,245 mosques, 815 of them were destroyed, in addition to three churches. 200,000 housing units were destroyed, using 85,000 tons of explosives, equivalent to six Hiroshima bombs.

3,130 km of electricity networks were destroyed, 330,000 meters of water networks, 655,000 meters of sewage networks, and 2,835,000 meters of road and street networks.

86% of the Gaza Strip has been destroyed.
