QPIDS, formerly known as loona cupids, is a four member korean-chinese girl group currently under sm entertainment. consisting of members eunha, chaerin, xinyi, and jae. they originally debuted under bbc entertainment with loona as a subunit loona cupids. in 2019, right after loona finished up butterfly promotions, the company confirmed that the four of then had left the group and company, and it was later confirmed they joined sm ent. they later debuted as QPIDS with the title track "im so pretty".

›› chaerin says ! : "as much as i hate to admit it— better." she says, frowning. "i think i'm better without her in the end. what was happening was unhealthy. and she's definitely happier without me."

After two years, SM's girl group QPIDS, former LOONA members, have opened up about why they left the company and the group.

On August 15th 2021, QPIDS held a surprise group VLive. During their live, member Xinyi read a comment asking why they had left their old company— BBC— in the first place.

"We legally can't say much." Leader Eunha had responded immediately, "but there were a lot of reasons."

"There was a lot of mistreatment involved." The groups maknae, Jae, had said. "We can only hope that they've gotten better since."

"Based on what we've heard from the other girls— they haven't." Member Chaerin shaded. The live was ended soon after, and and when it was re-uploaded, the entire segment had been edited out.

JUST DANCE was the first full album and 4th release from girl group QPIDS. it was released on february 26th, 2021 under sm entertainment with the title track DUN DUN DANCE. this album was what caused the group's success to sky rocket, and was promoted for nearly a month.

most of the bsides were popular as well! naughty and feel good especially— arrows ate them up since they were the first unit songs since their predebut albums.

the girls got to work on this album— each of them had writing or producing credits for at least one song and xinyi choreographed the title track while chaerin choreographed untouchable and naughty.

eunha met kyungmi before she debuted in qpids. kyungmi was a trainee at sm and only a year younger than eunha. they hit it off well and dated for a few months, until about two weeks after qpids' debut. eunha's schedule was to busy and she didn't want to risk anyone finding out about their relationship. they ended on good terms and keep in contact regularly.

JUNG MINJI ( @dr3amofus ) ( fc : lee ahin )

chaerin and minji's relationship had been on and off since minji's debuted. they met at an award show, and hit it off quickly- they were the same age and both were fluent in english after living in the usa and canada respectively. they got along well, but the difference between the two of them was chaerin was never good at committing and minji wanted a proper relationship. they fucked around for a few months, until minji called it off, saying that she couldn't take only being wanted for sex. they haven't talked since.

JEON HEEJIN

heejin and chaerin— your standard enemies to lovers to enemies relationship. neither had liked each other at first and the loona girls had gotten used to their constant fights. and one day, chaerin had kissed heejin out of nothing other than spite. they were kinda a thing but not really a thing for a month, until they ended up in an actual relationship— one that only lasted a few months. chaerin had a jealousy problem and heejin couldn't take it— she called it off after three months after a screaming match. they'd never been good for each other, anyway.

VIVI

they've been dating for three years now. vivi was the first loona member xinyi became really close with after debut— they quickly became close since they were the only foreign members of loona. they helped each other learn korean, and they've always balanced each other out well. they don't see each other as much as they did before xinyi left the company, but they call all the time and go on plenty of dates— although they're careful about those, they can usually pass as they're hanging out as friends.

YOON DAEWON ( fc : hwang hyunjin )

someone she met right after she moved to korea in 2017. he was nice to her and patient when she was learning korean. she was young and dumb and in love and had been fully convinced that she would spend the rest of her life with him, and of course, it didn't go that way, because just one drink quickly turned to one bottle a day and it was just too much stress for her. she broke up with him a few days before she joined bbc, and he had been pissed, had threatened her, but she was unharmed. she can only hope he's doing better now.

IM YEOJIN

the two maknaes of loona. really, their relationship was nothing more than puppy love, but they were cute. they bickered playfully with each other and got teased by their unnies. they dated up until jaehee left the company, decided that they'd be better going their separate ways. but they keep in touch.

KANG TAEHYUN

their relationship was rocky from the beginning. they started getting close at the the of 2021, and they got along sometimes, but for the most part, they argued nonstop. they only dated for three months, up until dispatch reported seeing them together, after which they quickly ended the relationship. they were never meant to last in the first place.

QPIDS CAREER MAP

2018 - 2019

QPIDS was, originally, a subunit under bbc and their girl group LOONA. originally, their subunit was named LOONA CUPIDS. in loona style, each member debuted one by one, starting with KWON EUNHA.

eunha debuted with her solo "HOLO" and the bside "SPACE" ft. olivia hye in april of 2018. she promoted the song a couple of times until the next member's debut was teased- BAE CHAERIN, who then used the stage name CHAE. she debuted with "LALALAY" and the bside "GOTTA GO" ft. eunha in may of 2018. after a few weeks, HUANG XINYI debuted next in june of 2018, her solo titled "BLUEMING" and her bside "YOU CANT SIT WITH US" ft. eunha. and lastly, YANG JAEHEE- under the stage name JAE debuted in july with "FLOWER SHOWER" and "SECOND" ft. xinyi. with all the members of their subunit debuted with a mini album- "BOW & ARROW" which had the title track "VANILLA".

they continued as members of loona for a few months, being there for the debut and up until the end of butterfly promotions. on march 7th, 2019 bbc made an announcement that eunha, chaerin, xinyi and jae had each terminated their contracts and would no longer continue with loona. each of the girls stayed out of the public eye for a while, until in june it was announced they'd each signed under SM and would be redebuting as a 4 member group later that year.

in october, their debut was teased and it was announced their new group name would be QPIDS. on november 8th, 2019, qpids debuted with the mini album SHOT 2 THE HEART and the title track "I'M SO PRETTY". the debut was rather popular, considering they were debuting under a big company and many orbits were waiting for them. it proved to be successful and charted well.

2020 - PRESENT

after the release of shot 2 the heart, qpids released a physical single, "BABY BLUE LOVE" followed by a mini album titled SUMMER LOVE with the title track "DUMDI DUMDI". both were relatively successful and charted well, but what really caused their popularity and success to sky rocket was their first full album- JUST DANCE, released in february of 2021, and which came with the title track "DUN DUN DANCE". korea loved it, and they pulled in their second win since debut as well as five others and many more fans.

they've only had one comeback since— RING RING, a physical single album released in june of 2021. they only got one win with it, and it definitely wasn't as big as a success as dun dun dance, but it was still relatively popular.

as of now, the girls have been relatively quiet— but there has been rumors of a possible comeback, dispatch reporting that they apparently saw the girls filming something in late august.
