DIGITAL MODEL Alternative Submission
Ruin Update Outpost revision
I chose to present this project in a scale model at a scale of 1:100, I believe using this scale would give an excellent context and detailed presentation of my Outpost at a scale which a lot is familiar with. For the fabrication I would be 3d printing using a resin 3d printer (Elegoo Mars) I have recently acquired during winter break, my Outpost has these cylindrical columns which 3d printing it would be  the best choice since I wouldn’t be worried about the gluing the pieces together.
Resin printers require proper and careful management since you will be using a SLA type resin which is harmful when exposed to the skin, I would love to print a sample of the model now but printing in this size will require a large amount of alcohol which I do not have because of the people panic buying due to the Covid-19, but when the drought ends I will be happy to print my model and send a follow up image(s).
I have Included Screenshots of the process in slicing the model to be prep and printed on the resin 3d printer, for some models which will be printed that has an overhang supports are necessary, this step is done at the 5th image in the slicing software with bunch of descriptions on it’s right. Slicing the model using the Chitubox software recommended by the 3d printer will show you how much resin and how many layers would it need to finish the model. After printing the model, it needs to be soaked and cleaned with 99.9 percent alcohol to safely reduce the resin chemical, and then cured with UV lights or just the sun for free UV lights.
My new world was inspired by mine craft  and tiny homes, the shape of the outpost was generally derived from tiny homes generic shape but added a twist of my design, and the stacking idea from minecraft.

Task 6 part B
Rendering and Editing Materials
Using the traced Elevation, imported into rhino for extrusion and material editing. This task was by far the most interesting task since I had the opportunity to play around and test materials for my model into rendering.

Topographic Drawings using Rhino and Illustrator.
Producing Smooth and stepped illustrations of topography from Task 1 and 2 Illustrations
Methods:
Imported autoCAD file to Rhino
Dragged individual lines to varying heights using Gumball
Highlight the lines and use command PATCH to create smooth mesh surface
EXTRUDECRV a 10km x 10km box to create the base for each topography and deselected excess mesh outside the box with BOOLEANSPLIT
With CONTOUR command, contour lines were created and EXTRUDEDCRV to set the stepped topography
Command HEIGHTFIELD and import black and white image. Rhino automatically generates the highest and lowest point from the light and dark shades of the image
