I love this man. more than anything else in the entire world. Season 7 blessed us with amazing Captain Takashi Shirogane content.

okay but, to those who still watched voltron, yet they claim to hate what they do in a season every minute: stop. 

why are you still watching the show then? if you hate what they do so much in canon, then leave. there are others who will certainly enjoy it more than you do. if you care so much about the characters, then care about the show and at least the staff who worked their asses off. i get feeling they may have betrayed your favorite character and feel they’ll do them wrong, but it’s their character, not yours. i understand disliking certain things, but constantly hating and not even wanting to see what they’ll do to finish the series off with a bang is stupid. 

see what canon has to offer and what will happen in the final arc. if you like it, all the power to you. don’t like it, that’s fine. just don’t bring down people who love the show for what it is in canon. don’t be ungrateful.

Keith Doesn’t Defend Himself

I noticed something really sad yesterday. Keith has a habit of letting people get off deeply personal emotional attacks on him without defending himself. I can think of three specific occasions on the show where he has been personally attacked and just turned the other cheek.

1.) In the first episode, Lance called him a dropout, Keith just congratulated Lance on making fighter pilot and moved on.

2.) In the Blade of Mamora, Lance began yelling about how Keith would blow the mission to the BoM base because he’s a hot head. Keith didn’t say a single word in his own defense.

3.) After his heritage was revealed, Allura started glaring at him and refusing to speak to him. He never once spoke up about how he had done nothing to deserve this treatment. He just accepted her hatred.

It happens often enough through out the series, it sets a definite pattern for Keith’s character. Almost like he expects people to treat him this way, and has decided that this is just how the world works for him.

It makes the scene of illusion Shiro calling him selfish all the more emotional, because for once, he isn’t passively accepting someone’s bad opinion of him. The rest of the world he expects to think of him as dirt, but Shiro is supposed to be different in his mind.

My mood after seeing all the S7 hate

to be honest, all signs point to keith thinking allura and lance are in a relationship. in s6, when he reached the castle, the image he saw was allura and lance pulling away from each other. and it looked like they just kissed. in season 7, he could be seeing that allura is starting to reciprocate lance’s feelings. so he does what he does best, he pushes away before he himself can get rejected. he’s rude and obnoxious to someone who obviously cares about him because he fears that rejection that would come with keith getting close to lance. so keith refuses to get close to lance again. keith’s been heavily gay-coded and a lot of scenes in seasons 1-4 suggest that keith might have a crush on lance. it’s plausible. i’m reaching, but it could be what’s going on.
