“I’m just...” she sighed, “so tired”

“Kashi I’m sorry.” Kana wipes her eyes and hugs her father.

Howdy! I have a question about the rural au. So like, how old are Naruto, Lee, and Kana in this? Have they graduated or are they homeschooled? I ask that because you mentioned in one ask that they spend a lot of time at home

I haven’t decided an age for them since it was the lovely @lavaflowers who came up with the au. Though I imagine they’re about 12-14 in my mind because that’s always a fun age to explore

I sort of imagined Them going to school, but the school days there being shorter because 9am-3pm is really long in my opinion.

I imagine the small town school days being more like 10-3 with an hour lunch. They have certain days for each subject (like history and sciences on Monday, wends day and Friday while Japanese literature and math would be Tuesday, Thursday and sat (one extra day to make up for the shortened days) and then extra classes like gym, music, etc))

So Naruto (for example) would wake up at 7am and help Kakashi with chores until 8am (the smaller things like feeding the animals) and then 8-9 is getting ready for school. 930 is when Kakashi drives him and kana to class.

And then after class it would be like 330-5 would be homework, dinner at 5 and then relaxing after that. Kakashi make’s 330-5 homework time because it’s the best time for him to sit down with Naruto and help him do the homework he might struggle with.

Naruto’s usually in bed by 11pm, cuz if he goes to bed later there is no way he’s getting up in time for chores XD

incomplete list of ordinary things that are intimate when u do them for/with someone u love:

-unbuttoning or unzipping clothing

-putting on their necklace

-any hair touching at all

-giving them a bite of your food and u feed it to them off ur own fork

-catching their eye from across the room

-picking fuzz off their clothing

-cooking together and standing over the same pan while you stir and they add things

-sitting in the same room working on different things together in silence

-teaching them how to do something

-doing something for them bc their hands are full

-grocery shopping together

Modern AU:

Kana comes back home from school full of bruises and a bloody lip. What’s Kakashi and Gai’s reaction?

Kakashi’s reaction is to start Kana on some self defense training, even if it’s with Gai (since i love to think he’d own a Dojo, given his love for training and his skill in taijutsu). He wants her to be able to take on any bullies who may try to hurt her in the future, and to be able to be able to hit back harder.

Gai’s reaction is a whole lot of things. First he’s contacting the school principle and the teacher, and he’s getting it out of Kana who did this to her and dragging the parents into it. If the school won’t deal with it, he will. and his way of dealing with it is the same as Kakashi’s. He’s going to teach her self defense, and part of self defense is learning how to break an attackers nose. He’s not going to leave his daughter unprotected and unprepared against violent bullys, and he’s actually upset that she had to be hurt at all before he reacted. He’s definitely kicking himself for that.

Also, another response is that they’re both going to teach Kana to be a lot more forward. She doesn’t have to be as mouthy and upfront as Kakashi, or as brash and confident as Gai. But they want her to know she’s allowed to stand up for herself and others, and that they absolutely have her back when she does. They won’t condone her harming anyone unprompted and becoming a bully, but they will defend her right to protect herself and others from harm.
