☽ BASICS ☾

- SPOILERS FOR MOON KNIGHT EVERYWHERE. There will be untagged spoilers for both the comics and especially the show. I highly recommend watching the Moon Knight TV show if you haven’t seen it! It got me into comic books and made me interested in the MCU.

- That said, I haven’t seen all of the content in the MCU, not even a third of it, so I’m sorry if I get any lore details wrong.

- GENERAL CONTENT WARNING FOR: Descriptions of violence, religious stuff, swearing, emotional manipulation. I’ll try to tag other things as they come up.

- NSFW POLICY: More power to you if you wanna flirt with the mummy bird but I wouldn’t expect too much. 99.9% chance things won’t be getting smutty around here.

- KHONSHU IS AN ASSHOLE. Nothing he says reflects my real views about anything. If he’s mean to you, it doesn’t mean I don’t like you or you’ve done something wrong.

- I don't know if Khonshu will be officially connected to any other Marc/Steven/Jake blog. (There's currently like two and I'm sort of expecting this blog to flop, so this might not end up mattering.) He will probably behave like he is while interacting, but otherwise will act like he has his own Marc/Steven/Jake somewhere offscreen, if that makes any sense. (Since post-show is the default, there's a chance this Khonshu's Jake will make cameo appearances here.)

☽ MUSE INFO ☾

- KHONSHU is the Egyptian god of the moon, vengeance, healing and time, among other things. While he is enormously powerful in theory, he’s mostly unable to affect the physical world without use of a mortal avatar, dubbed his MOON KNIGHT. Those who agree to be his avatar are granted superpowers and near-invulnerability, in exchange for agreeing to carry out his will: Bringing vengeance against those who harm his travelers of the night.

- Khonshu is also somehow a billions-year-old grumpy baby who flips over trash cans when he doesn’t get his way.

- Depending on when you’re choosing to interact with him, his current avatar is either the triple threat of MARC SPECTOR/STEVEN GRANT/JAKE LOCKLEY, or just Jake Lockley.

- Normally, only his avatar (or avatars of other gods) are capable of seeing/hearing Khonshu, but let’s say this blog is a holy space where he can answer your prayers questions.

- This Khonshu is HEAVILY BASED ON THE TV SHOW, which means he lacks a lot of the harsher history his comic book counterpart has. That said, as a god, he is aware of the multiverse and has at least a rough idea of what his counterparts are up to. You can ask about comic stuff, he just might have a different opinion.

- Some comic lore has been added, namely his fraught history with AMON-RA. (This probably won’t come up much, but it does inform a lot of how I play the character.)

"... What?" Okay, this got weird fast. Fetching a rival from the afterlife? That had to be a metaphor for something, but for what, he didn't know. Maybe this thing was just nuts. Yeah, that was probably the best idea. Sooner believe that than the idea that he was from the future.

"I have no idea what you're going on about with that afterlife stuff, but if you think I haven't stretched my wings or grown my claws, you're asking to be put in your place."

He's already reaching for his deck.

"Fake in denial... but then again... another typical response which I expected from another, for I was like that at one point too. Which I hate to admit, even when you still have a lot to learn yet..." clearly calling it out as it were but least not as harsh as this younger one be really when having that snippy attitude which he could relate to, "Have to say you're doing well with what you're doing, progress be progress really... even if having sleepless nights when working on various projects." something all too relatable when he been doing that so much himself with personal things and finding it a bit amusing in a sense if he dare admit it.

His voice is dripping with sarcasm, expression immediately dropping from the fake-shock he'd slapped on. "Thanks for the compliment, I guess. Don't think that's going to make me buy whatever fairy tale about alternate realities, or you being me from the future, or whatever."

"Falling onto woodchips doesn't usually feel too good, Mokuba."

The words are only to mask his worry. Just listening to his little brother in pain makes his stomach twist in all kinds of knots, but he can't lock up. Mokuba's legs are scratched up from the fall, and there's probably a couple of splinters in the mix, but the real worry is if something is broken. Dammit, he was supposed to protect Mokuba, but this was a cruel reminder that he was doomed to fail at times. (That's just an excuse. He could've been there. Could've had security follow him and catch him.)

"... Can you stand up? Here," He held out his hands with the intent to help pull him up. If Mokuba could put weight on both of them, then it was probably fine.

"It's not like you to act like this much of a baby, Yugi. If you don't apply pressure to it, it's going to keep bleeding! If you have any better ideas, I'd love to hear them!" He couldn't defeat his rival if he died, but Yugi would have to be exceptionally stupid to die from this. Whatever. Better safe than sorry.

This is a hallucination. Or a vivid dream. It's the only thing that made sense, and it wouldn't be the first time he'd made up someone that wasn't there. This was some... anxiety over Mokuba growing up, and maybe he read something about horses recently, and his mind unhelpfully combined the two.

It'd be a perfect theory if the pendant in his hand didn't feel so solid. He didn't know what to make of that, but he suddenly didn't want to be holding it anymore.

"... I'm not high." Maybe he was slipped something? Seto leaned back against the nearest wall, rubbing his eyes with one hand. This can't be happening to him. He refused to lose control like this. (Which meant he really should stop talking to the hallucination Mokuba.) "Right, growing up. And what age is that? Because last I checked, you were fourteen. I'm nineteen right now--!"

Arguing with the hallucination, shockingly, wasn't making it go away. "No, this isn't real. I have to be dreaming."

"I'm fine, Seto. This is a risk I take working with two-thousand-pound animals on a regular basis. It's not the first time I've been kicked in the face by a horse, and it won't be the last. Shit happens all the time. I've been bitten, stepped on, I've had a horse rear up and fall directly on top of me twice, and in terms of getting kicked, this is the tenth time total, I think. Not to mention all the times I've been bucked off into a fence post or a wall."

Mokuba gave a casual shrug as he spoke, to him it was all just part of the job. Still, he allowed Seto to take a look at his current injury since he knew his brother wasn't likely to back down.

"In terms of you needing to go after anyone, don't bother. I already knocked Kaleesi on her ass for kicking me. Any further action is something she won't understand and she's still young. She's only just starting to learn how to be handled for the farrier."

"Enough." He still had his pride. Mostly. "Sorry to break it to you, but you're not a very threatening ghost, half-pint. But you're right, I did use that card. Seems like I was more successful with it than you two." That's not something to be proud of.

"Isn't that the Kaiba who used the magic too-"

He's not entirely sure if this is a point for 'a trick' or 'insanity.'

Seto found himself paralyzed, eyes slowly widening as this-- this thing spoke as though he was Mokuba, making this all about damned horses like that had anything to do with anything. Like Seto cared how many animals are in his care or stalls to clean, like he cared about what career his little brother had!

It's not his brother. It's... h-he didn't know what it was.

"What the hell are you talking about? Hey!" Seto snatched the pendant from the table and vaulted after him. The height and weight difference were truly terrifying, but that didn't matter to him right now. "You're not going anywhere until you give me some answers! What is this supposed to be? Some kind of trick? Are you about to tell me time travel is real?"

A Mokuba from the future appearing before him was slightly more believable than the idea that his rival was an ancient pharaoh. But only slightly.

"What are you?" He gritted out.
