You'll Never Be Alone - Ch. 1

“What do you think of it?” she prompted. 

“I think …” 

He trailed off as he gazed at her. 

She was hopeful. Her violet eyes were bright, as if the city outside wasn’t destroyed and in shambles. 

He was careful with his words. He didn’t dare tell her about how Tyrion had just attempted to sway him into becoming a kinslayer. Her knowing would only make her all the more angry. 

“I think … I think you’ve won the war. And now it’s time for us to go back to Dragonstone.” Jon told her as he squeezed their hands together.

She was confused and taken aback by his words. 

She let go of his hand and shook her head, not understanding why he wished to leave what was left of the capital. 

“Why would I leave? This is my seat. I was born to sit the Iron Throne.” 

Her voice had changed. Her tone was no longer so content. 

Her eyes changed, too. Her happiness was dissipating, and she was growing upset with him, growing defensive. 

“All of the repairs will take time. We can’t stay here, it’s not safe for you.” he responded, hoping that she would hear the genuine concern in his voice. 

He tried to reach for her, but she moved once more. 

His fingers grasped at nothing but air. 

Her face gave away what she was thinking. 

No, no, it’s not that, sweetling. I don’t want the throne. I’m not a threat to you. You love me, I know that you do.  

Quickly, so that she couldn’t pull away, he placed one hand on her cheek while his other arm went around her waist. 

“It’s for the best if we leave King’s Landing. Let’s go back to Dragonstone. For Rhaegal. For me.” he begged as he became overcome with emotion. 

She blinked and then she was touching her palm to his cheek. Her affection soothed him, but only for a moment before she spoke. 

“This is our home now, Jon. We’re supposed to be here, this is our reason.” 

He was losing her and a pit formed in his stomach. 

He tightened his hold on her and he pressed his forehead against her own. 

“Please, Dany.”  

If she really did love him … if she truly did care for him, she would say- 

“Alright. We’ll go back to Dragonstone.” 

His entire body hummed in relief. His muscles relaxed and he pulled back just enough so that he could look into her eyes. 

“I love you.” he whispered, because he did, of course he did, and he always would. 

Her entire face lit up in the way it had used to before she had known the truth about who he was. 

“And I love you.” Dany promised.

the great sleigh escape | a very late Jonerys holiday fic

I’m alive! 😂 I’ve been gone for so long it feels like I vanished off the face of the earth but I’m still here. Just burned out and lacking energy. Regardless I finished the Christmas fic and you know better late than never huh? 😂

She fumbled with the dress, shoving it down and glanced at her escape route. She pushed herself forward, scooting down again, dropping to a balcony on the third floor. Only two more left, she thought, rather proud of herself, and hoisted herself over the railing, shimmying sideways to a gigantic maple tree. "I can do this," she mumbled. She was already this far.

How could she go back now?

What was she going to do? Just wander in to the godswood and say "Whoops, sorry dear, I didn't finish my hair and makeup because I looked at myself in the mirror and didn't know who I was and realized on my wedding day that I wasn't in love with the man I was supposed to marry, and also your mother is insane and will hate me no matter what so might as well jsut get out now while I can?"

Yeah, she wasn't doing that.
