the first part of the animation process was hand drawing letters. i took peter bankov as a reference and used black ink and a black pen to play with the weight of each character, resulting in the weight of the words formed. after that, I scanned it, clean and edited in photoshop and imported it to after effects, where i’ll play with movement and composition. it’ll result in an opening sequence to the story, as i said earlier.

maybe it's more of a challenge to step into an animation instead of resorting to photography, like I was planning. it has also more to do with illustration. I might use the last three references for an experimental gif -- maybe an imaginary opening for Cortazar’s story.

This example, although different from what I am planning to do, raises the same kinds of questions I’m interested in showcasing — also the same ones raised by Cortazar in his text — a sort of intertextuality between the form of an object versus (or juxtaposing) the object itself; meaning and reality.
