ENTIRELY COMPLETE PUBLICATION

Final summary
DP2B was a challenging project for me, first I used collage techniques to combine the four elements of the interview, fitting all the image elements together and modifying them with some details to turn it into a different style that has a retro feel and conveys that it is a past tense. During the design process, I became more proficient in Photoshop techniques, such as using color blocking and color adjustment to key the images into a color block style on the back cover, as well as adjusting the style of some images to make the whole look more compatible, and I also used a brush to add a border to the images to make the whole look better together. When using Indesign for layout I paid a lot of attention to margins, alignment, grouping, and contrast as key points for layout. I think communication is very important in team work, because each member has his own style and ideas, and it is a challenge to integrate several different styles, so it is important to listen to others' opinions and keep modifying them. The first thing I noticed when putting the booklet together and printing it was that I couldn't log into my school account, and then I did my best to align the paper with the guillotine when cutting it out, but there were still some inaccuracies when cutting out the pages. So I printed two copies of the booklet so that I could still use the second one if any problems arose. Overall, there were a lot of problems with the process, but I was able to get a more satisfying publication after constant revision.

Different colour version
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another version of the test, there are some additions and changes in color, although I like the color of the whole version, but I still feel that white is more versatile and in line with the theme style, so I finally decided to use the white version as the final work

I tried different colors for comparison, although adding the background color will make the whole look fuller, but I still like this version without the background color, because the whole is more in line with the theme

back cover

The back of the booklet is because I want to echo the cover, so I made some adjustments to the pattern of the cover and deleted some pictures to make the picture look cleaner as a whole, and at the same time express my thoughts.

Because the previous content was too cumbersome and complicated, I decided to make some simple creations in this part, so as to make the overall effect less cluttered, I chose this color because I think this color matches my interview very well, but the overall use The effect is not so good

With the change of the sorting method, I feel that the overall picture is not so empty, and I can read important content more, but I think some changes are needed in terms of fonts, because there is only one title on the background. It is very empty.

INTRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT and final
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the second attempt, I felt that the second style was more suitable for the theme. At the same time, I still used the elements of each work to create a new page. I used Photoshop to do some additions and cropping to the image, I used Photoshop to color-block the flowers, and the overall style I think matches the cover very well.

Because I want the same overall style, I still want to try the clipping effect, but the overall look is not ideal, and the content is too monotonous

Introduction Page
People, Objects, Places is a publication made up of four exclusive interviews. In the publication we interviewed different people, told interesting stories and personal experiences, learned about their lives and reconnected them to the people, objects and places that mean so much to them.
The publication includes chunyu chen, a student studying alone in New Zealand, describing how she grew up and misses for her family.Freeman McCall, he is full of motivation, strives to break through, challenge himself and has a dream. Geoffrey Fiebig expresses his love for his work and pride in it when talking about his work. And young Nathaniel Law, who has chosen a fighting career and is slowly making a name for himself as he continues to work hard. We used different styles and methods to create their own interview pages, which I combined into a 24-page publication. I hope this will give people a better insight into the lives of the four interviewees.

FONT COVER
Tumblr media
For the cover I wanted to convey the theme of "people, things, places", and I used elements from every member of the group to create this collage. I wanted to convey the connection between people and stories (objects and places) through this image.
