Padmé, pale but radiant, smiled weakly from her bed. In her arms, wrapped tightly in a white blanket, was a tiny boy — their son.

"Come here," Padmé whispered, voice tender and hoarse.

Anakin moved as if in a dream. His gloved hand trembled as he reached out. Padmé placed the small bundle into his arms, and the weight of it nearly buckled him. Luke's tiny face scrunched and yawned, unaware of the galaxy around him.

"Luke," Padmé said, tears sparkling in her eyes. "His name is Luke."

Anakin stared down at the boy. So small. So perfect. The Force itself seemed to hum around him, alive and bright. For a moment, Anakin couldn't speak — couldn't even think. His heart was too full.

"I promise," he whispered, voice breaking, "I’ll protect you. I’ll be the father you deserve."

But then a soft cough made him turn. Another nurse approached, a second bundle in her arms.

"And your daughter," the nurse said, smiling. "She’s strong — and loud."

Anakin’s breath caught.

Daughter.

Padmé chuckled weakly. "Leia," she said, voice a gentle breeze in the quiet room.

Anakin handed Luke carefully back to Padmé and reached out for Leia. As she settled into his arms, he felt a surge of fierce, overwhelming love. Leia’s little fist gripped the fabric of his tunic with surprising strength.

Anakin laughed — a real, bright, unburdened laugh. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he pressed his forehead to hers.

"My little girl," he murmured. "My Leia."

He sat beside Padmé, cradling Leia in one arm and reaching out to brush Luke’s tiny hand with his other. For the first time in years — maybe in his whole life — Anakin Skywalker felt complete. Not as a warrior. Not as the Chosen One.

Just as a husband.

As a father.

And it was enough.
