i like to think that when you queue up in duty finder, flyers go up at the adventurer’s guilds and it’s kind of ridiculous and people keep wanting to know just what the fuck your player character gets up to in his daily life

i adore the detail on griffith's eyes here. he definitely shed much more tears than we know, probably until morning giving the fact that this scene happens the day after he slept with princess charlotte. and people still think that griffith was sad just because he lost his "favorite tool", the key to his dream.

Reading my own fanfiction is basically just a rollercoaster of emotional whiplash.

20% of the time: “Hold on. I wrote this? This is fire. This is emotionally devastating in the best way. This scene is dripping with tension. I’m a literary perfectionist. Someone give me a book deal.”

80% of the time: “Straight to jail. Immediate prison. Why is everyone’s breath hitching?. I used the word ‘gaze’ three times in one paragraph like I was possessed. Did I think 'his eyes darkened' was profound? Why is everyone clenching their jaws? Why is someone whispering 'their name like a prayer' again?? No one talks like this. What is this dialogue. Why are there so many weird metaphors and em-dashes…”

I am forever grateful to an archivist mentor I worked with in grad school for some resume advice she gave me and thought maybe others would also benefit from it.

Keep a Master Resume.

This is not the resume you send out. This is a detailed resume of every job (with dates and location, supervisor and location phone number are a bonus) and as many skills/duties/accomplishments you can possibly think of for each and every one of the jobs and education programs you can think of.

She showed me hers, it was about 25 pages long, and formatted exactly like a regular resume for ease. Every time she would learn a new program/skill, she'd add it. Change in title or duties, add it. Complete something big/special/complicated/new to her/professionally significant, she would add it. This way when she went up for a promotion or raise, she had a detailed record of highlights to pick from to show she deserved it. There was no "when was that? Did I submit that last round of reviews?"

Applying to a new job? Pick and choose items from your Master Resume to plug in to the resume or CV you will be sending based on the job posting. You don't need to rewrite it, just cut and paste relevant details.

every now and again i think about how emet-selch has to spend the entirety of shb with the wol having no memory of him or the unsundered world at all and then in elpis the wol has to deal with knowing everything while emet-selch is the one with no memory of THEM and then the only time they actually meet with full knowledge of what they both are to the other it's for like 2 minutes at the edge of existence before they part for good. and then i start to eat my own hands
