Yuri of the Month: False Marigold (偽りのマリィゴールド) by Sasuke
Tumblr media
Kasumi goes to visit her brother's penpal to inform her of his death, and to kill her, believing she's to blame for his passing. But when the woman, who is blind, mistakes Kasumi's scent for her brother's, Kasumi ends up cutting off her hair, putting on his clothes, and furthering an elaborate illusion...
A short, sweet, Meiji-era romance of deception and class disparity; sweetness laced with tragedy and lies. My only regret is that it isn't longer. The scent of summer flowers makes False Marigold my yuri rec for June 2025.
Volumes: 3 (complete)
Licensing in English: Scantalation only
Rating/Warnings: deception, death, depictions of ableism

A Curtain Call For You is a yuri manga about two girls who form a drama club, one a shy writer and the other an outgoing transfer student with a talent for acting. The manga has gotten a fanbase but evidentally sales were low, and the series is currently on hiatus, with artist Emoda Kiki making the annoucement that the series would likely end with the third volume... but also adding that a boost in sales could result in the story being able to be continued, similar to what happened with The Princess of Sylph.
Kodansha annouced preorders for the English version of A Curtain Call For You 1 today. If the series sounds interesting to you, please consider preordering the book! Enough preorders may result in the continuation of this series!

Yuri of the Month: This Monster Wants to Eat Me (私を喰べたい、ひとでなし) by Sai Naekawa
alt title: A Monster Wants to Eat Me
Tumblr media
A morose high schooler wants to die. A carnivorous mermaid promises to kill and eat her--but not yet. And she insists that Hinako live a happy life in the meantime, or else she'll never be good enough to devour.
It is mermay, right? Was this not the kind of mermaid you were expecting...? A seaside fairy tale about monsters, humans, hunger, grief, and finding the will to live. I've always had a weakness for monster girls that really are monstrous, making This Monster Wants to Eat Me my go-to yuri rec for May 2025.
Volumes: 8
Licensing in English: First four volumes available from Yen Press
Rating/Warnings: Death, blood, gore, body horror, suicide ideation, arguably cannibalism?

Yuri of the Month: I Want to Make Black Knight Fall in Love With Me! (崖っぷち令嬢は黒騎士様を惚れさせたい !) by Suou and Sometime
alt title: A Noblewoman on the Brink of Disaster Wants to Make the Black Knight Fall in Love!
Tumblr media
With her once-aristocratic family now in ruin, Clarice has the perfect solution to their financial woes: a political marriage to the terrifying Black Knight, a fearsome monster hunter who no one has ever seen without his armor. And Clarice is determined to be the best damn lady of the house she can be, even if the Knight is rude, childish, stand-offish, completely disinterested in having a wife, and, in fact, a woman...
A sort of classic Rumiko Takahashi vibe animates much of Black Knight: often-adversarial leads, oblivious jerks with hidden soft hearts, bloody shonen fight scenes sharing space with romcom antics. But it's building on and twisting a formula, not merely repeating it, and Clarice's guile, excellent comedic timing, and some thoughtfully weird fantasy worldbuilding make this the manga I'm refreshing most often for updates these days. And they definitely make Black Knight my yuri pick for April 2025.
Volumes: 2
Licensing in English: Scantalation only
Rating/Warnings: Violence, gore

Yuri of the Month: Run Away With Me, Girl (かけおちガール) by Battan
Tumblr media
A woman reconnects with her high school ex-girlfriend, now trapped in an unhappy engagement to a man.
A sweet, earnest, lovely drama about love between women as a safe harbor and place of healing in a world of misogynistic violence. The romance of running away together is why Run Away With Me, Girl is my yuri rec for March 2025.
Volumes: 4 (JPN) / 3 (ENG) (complete)
Licensing in English: Kodansha
Rating/Warnings: Domestic violence, pregnancy, nudity, sexual content

Yuri of the Month: My Princess Charming (위장여친) by Teunteun
Tumblr media
Spoiled, conceited Yuna is so pretty that she's constantly hit on by annoying men. To fend them off, she convinces a handsome lesbian on campus to pretend to be her girlfriend. But when Yuna falls for real, she finds to her disbelief and frustration that Min seems to be the only person in the world who really has no interest in her.
This is a romcom with a capital Comedy that I couldn't put down until I finished it, and I think I physically clutched my heart at the last chapter. Fake dating with a twist between two women who get more entertaining every page. An adorable, heartwarming romp suits Valentine's best, which is why My Princess Charming has to be my yuri rec for February 2025.
Length: 39 Chapters (complete)
Licensing in English: No longer available; the localized title and translation available on scantalation sites appears to be a rip of an official English release by pocketcomics which has since been removed.
Rating/Warnings: Cissexism, student-teacher relationship (not the MCs, and in college so both are adults)

Yuri of the Month: Teppu (鉄風) by Oota Moare
Tumblr media
Natsuo is excellent at everything, deeply arrogant, and incredibly bored. That is until an annoyingly-friendly, endlessly-determined new girl beats her in an MMA fight after school. Disgrace turns into obsession as Natsuo, used to being effortlessly perfect, learns to work hard at something for the first time, all to finally win a rematch against the only girl who's ever made her bleed.
Have you ever wondered what a shonen sports rivalry looked liked from the rival's point of view? Teppu takes a beloved and familiar set of archetypes and flips the focus. If you've ever dared to ask "What if there was a hot-blooded homoerotic yaoi rivalry, but with girls?" then this manga was tailor-made for you. Let's take on the new year and put it in a headlock, by making Teppu our yuri rec for January 2025.
Volumes: 8 (complete)
Licensing in English: Kondansha
Rating/Warnings: Depiction of abusive families.

Yuri of the Month: Can't Defy the Lonely Girl (ロンリーガールに逆らえない) by Kashikaze
alt titles: I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl
Tumblr media
Ayaka's been offered a recommendation letter to the college of her dreams, she just has to do the school one little favor: convince a delinquent to stop skipping class. When Sora finds out, she offers to make her own deal: she'll stop playing hooky if Ayaka will fulfill one request of hers a day, every day, starting with a kiss.
The most adorable, fluffy, saccharinely sweet manga about blackmail you'll ever read. I'm talking butterflies-in-your-stomach kicking-your-feet twirling-your-hair puppy-love teen romance. But that doesn't mean it's lacking in substance, and sometimes cotton candy is exactly what you need. My cavities say Can't Defy the Lonely Girl is our yuri rec for December 2024.
Volumes: 6 (Complete)
Licensing in English: First 4 volumes licensed by Kodansha
Rating/Warnings: None besides what's stated in the premise.

Yuri of the Month: Sugar Girl Drip (シュガーガール・ドリップ) by Tsukinowa Ao
Tumblr media
Two waitresses, one a vivacious influencer and the other a timid doormat with almost no will of her own, strike up a strange friendship after they kill their abusive manager and have to cover up the crime together.
Though it's not far along yet, something about the dripping, doe-eyed art of this manga, its luxurious attention to hair and outfits, the adorable, wide-eyed rage of its main character, has me hooked. A candy-coated neon fever dream, a noir exploitation revenge thriller, and a gentle love story about learning to want again, somehow all at once. A deadly first impression is why Sugar Girl Drip is my yuri rec for November 2024.
Volumes: 1
Licensing in English: Scantalation only
Rating/Warnings: For mature audiences only. Contains depictions and discussions of sexual violence, including implied childhood sexual abuse. A major story theme is the two leads opposite-direction methods of coping with trauma, and rebuilding one's sense of self after being in a long-term abusive environment.

Yuri of the Month: I See You, Aizawa-San! (Mietemasu yo! Aizawa-san) by Odoroo Dorothy
Tumblr media
A girl who has seen ghosts her whole life has always chosen to strictly ignore them, until a classmate dies under strange circumstances and starts haunting their classroom. Distracted and charmed by the ridiculous, ghostly antics of a girl she never knew in life and who no one else can see, Michi soon finds herself entangled in questions: about her own past, about how to help Aizawa, and what really happened the night her ex-classmate died.
As much as I love the paranormal-horror-mystery, Aizawa-san stands out to me for its excellent comedic timing. I can't emphasize enough how funny Odoroo Dorothy is, and this is always a romcom first. This halloween, it's all about mediums, ghostly possession, and girl's love, which is why I See You, Aizawa-san! is my yuri rec for October 2024.
Volumes: 4
Licensing in English: Scantalation only.
Rating/Warnings: Horror, death, and paranormal imagery.

LOVE BULLET made headlines recently when fans took on a massive support drive to prevent its cancellation, selling out its first volume in multiple stores. With it's clean, expressive art style, lovely writing, and fresh premise, LOVE BULLET is my yuri rec for September 2024.
Volumes: 1

Welcome to Yuri Monthly! After being inspired by the outpouring of support for Love Bullet these past few weeks, I was really bummed that some of my favorites never seemed to get similar fandoms. So I'm starting this blog for my love of girls love--a new yuri recommendation once a month, straight to your dash. Feel free to send recs, but I promise that I'm only posting comics I've personally read and would genuinely recommend, for quality assurance and summary/warning accuracy.
This blog posts once a month on the 1st, around 11am central. I recommend enabling notifications.
