Takano & Ritsu relationship analysis and...

The thing that bugs me the most when it comes to some people in this fandom is… When people (who side with Ritsu) makes comment like: “well, Takano was being forceful, aggressive etc and he’s hurted Ritsu” or people making comments like: “I can understand why Ritsu don’t want to confess to someone who once hurted him”…

BUT….

The thing is…. It isn’t only Ritsu that was hurt because of this break-up. Takano was too, if not, he had it worst.

Let’s break it down shall we?

Ritsu Pov:

- He thought Takano was not serious with their relationship because he snicker, that hurted Ritsu alot. So he round-house kicked him and ran off, without giving Takano the chance (not 1 chance) to explain himself, and his personality made a drastic change after that (understand why he would).

Takano Pov:

- He doesn’t understand why Ritsu round-house kicked him, and afterwards, he just ran off. Disappeared from his life

- During the same time, his family was falling apart (have already fallen apart), Ritsu was his light/happiness, but he just disappeared on him, and considering this was the first real love he ever had, he was lost, just when you think that’s not worst, around the same time, he found out that his father isn’t his real father.

- When he was trying to look for Ritsu to ask for an explanation/find him again, he found out that he had a fiance.

^^^^^^^ So….. I’m not trying to side with one side over the other here, I mean, I understand how much they both love each other in the past (with all of their soul/heart), and how much this break-up have affected both of them, but if people can understand why it’s hard for Ritsu to confess his love for someone who broke his heart once, why can’t that be applied to Takano here? Takano heart was broken because of Ritsu as well, and just like Yokozawa said here:

Feels familiar doesn’t it? Because what Nao is doing now is doing the exact same thing Yokozawa did on Ritsu only this time this is being directed at Takano instead. The thing is… While Yokozawa was doing all this on Ritsu, we have Takano there, reassuring him (something Ritsu needs, reassurances, because he needs this, he’s someone who needs reassurances, because if he doesn’t he wouldn’t have asked that question 10 years ago to be sure if they were dating, which lead into all this misunderstanding). Takano confessed his love for Ritsu, despite Ritsu had broke his heart when he left and all this misunderstanding occurred, so how is this fair in terms of judging their relationship? When people don’t take both characters pov into account as well? —> “I understand why he wouldn’t want to confess to someone who’s broke his heart”

Takano always made it clear when they met again that the one he loves is Ritsu not Yokozawa, even when Yokozawa was in the picture which gave Ritsu those doubts. Takano is there to reassure him everytime. BUT the difference here with Nao on Takano is… Just when Takano needed that confession the most, he’s there to add salt to their relationship, Nao even said to Takano that “Ritsu will never confess his love to you”, does he even understand how much that hurted him? that actually is like a stab to his heart, (and a stab to my heart, because like I said, if Takano is hurt I’m hurt too) which builds on his insecurities even more.. Honestly, I didn’t like how Yokozawa treated Ritsu back then like this, but at least Takano was there to tell him he loves him and reassured him everytime that he’s serious about this relationship, but Ritsu have yet to confess his love to him. Normally I don’t mind the count-down because I enjoy their relationship on my end, but I really felt like Ritsu needs to confess soon, and 40 days is too long because I feel like the more this drags on where the author doesn’t allow Ritsu to confess, the more it will hurt Takano even more because it felt like he’s in this relationship but he doesn’t understand if Ritsu feels the same about this. He’s hurt, he’s insecured, and that’s why I can personally see why he’s forceful, not because he wants to hurt Ritsu, but because it’s really the only way the author can make Takano feel re-assured by Ritsu’s feelings (i.e. he loves him also) for the time being when Ritsu doesn’t reject him or push him away because his confession will not be out until the count-down reaches Zero, and this is us hoping ‘all this waiting will pay off in a long run’.

Honestly, I don’t like Nao on my end, instead of being a friend, he’s selfish, and his actions really annoyed me to the point that, yes, I do feel sorry for Takano because how can anyone doesn’t? This is like Yokozawa all over again.

Anyways, I’m sure because Nao is in the picture now and actively pursuing Ritsu, Ritsu will set things straight with him, and tell him that he’s in love with Takano. I also (personally) didn’t like how Nao calls Takano ‘Saga’ because that was uncalled for, but I feel that the more he refers Takano as ‘Saga’, Ritsu will do something about it on his end, because we have seen in him that it’s his natural instinct to speak up for Takano when someone tries to talk badly of him, because deep down, Ritsu never thought of Takano the one those people described him (horribly) as. As evident here:

So I’m sure Ritsu will do something about Nao’s actions towards Takano if this keeps up. Doesn’t mean it will be any easier for Takano to take if we have scenes like this (again) in the manga:

I’m just using that as an example. Like, I know Takano knows Ritsu didn’t meant that he doesn’t love him but judging the current situation if a similar scenario happens again, because of all that is happening right now etc, I think Takano will really believed Ritsu meant he doesn’t love him IF this similar scene were to occur again, because I feel like Takano insecurities is over the top at the moment. It’s painstakingly sad (gosh!!!). Ritsu needs to stop being a tsundere and be honest with his feelings (I trust that he will because he needs to and also because the count-down is dropping to zero) because if he doesn’t, and if this keeps up, Takano will be heart-broken because he’s only human… :(

So in summary, to those people who always sees this in Ritsu pov, then who’s actually seeing this from Takano/even try to understand Takano’s feelings? Those people always say it was Takano’s fault that their relationship ended back then, but I personally don’t really see it like that. Takano shouldn’t have laughed, but he explained why he did it. So for that, I don’t blame him. Ritsu on the other hand, although I know why he felt jaded when he saw that, but he’s at fault too, he shouldn’t have round-house kicked him and disappear the next day without giving Takano the chance to explain himself. All those years, Takano was trying to find him again, while Ritsu on the other hand was trying to forget about him. I know that there are two sides to a coin and how you see it depends on which side you’re on, but when you view a relationship, this isn’t just about 1 person, but 2. 2 people makes up a relationship, so shouldn’t people try to see/understand both sides and not 1? If people can see this from Ritsu’s pov and understand his feelings, why can’t people see this from Takano’s pov and understand him too?

I keep saying this on my end, I’m someone who actually needs reassurances in life, so if applying their relationship IRL, I actually find that Takano is having it hard because he’s someone who needs reassurances right now, an ‘answer’ from Ritsu, that’s all he needs, but ofcourse that’s not going to happen because Ritsu confession will be the day the count-down reaches zero, and until that time comes, no matter what, the author is not going to let Takano hear those words from Ritsu because that’s just how it is. This isn’t Takano’s fault but it’s the author’s doing. This is part of the plot. It doesn’t mean they aren’t mutually in love with each other. So really, at times I just wish that people don’t fault Takano too much or say that he deserves to suffer because he certainly does NOT deserve to suffer, he’s been through enough. If anyone is having this hard, it’s Takano right now since he loves Ritsu so much that he’s actually really scared that he’ll lose him again. He’s afraid that Nao will steal Ritsu away from him and what Nao said and confirmed made Takano’s fears became a reality, because instead of saying: “Ritsu is my friend, I don’t want him hurt (just one friend caring to another friend)”, he told him he loves Ritsu romantically, so…..(!!!) We all know Ritsu won’t leave him but this is because we can hear Ritsu’s thoughts/feelings and we are reading this from his pov, but bear in mind that Takano can’t and these are all his insecurities deep down for all said, so in a way, I somewhat understand why Takano can be forceful (when it needs to be) on his end because this is like the author’s way of having him feel reassured by Ritsu (when he doesn’t reject him) that there’s something going on between them. You know.

After posting some teaser videos on their Twitter/X account, they finally uploaded all of the pictures today! The live performances will take place from August 10th until August 24th (2025). No information about a livestream has been released yet, though usually this is only announced a few days before the first performance starts.
