YYH Themed Tarot Deck interest check!!!

Hello everyone! The team at YYH-Revival decided to run a tarot deck event this year starting from October all the way to the next October.

What is this event?

The concept is simple -- there are 78 cards in a typical deck, with 22 major arcana cards and the rest being minor arcana. We'd start with the major cards first. We'd have about three consultants who know tarot well and would be able to help the artists create a meaningful card with a YYH theme. 

The end goal of the event is to actually print out the cards and create a full YYH themed deck for purchase. We are still debating whether proceeds would be to cover only the production, making the deck cheaper, have proceeds that go to charity, or have proceeds that go towards funding the doujinshi project. There's pros and cons to either option, which we'll outline below in one of the questions.

Also, anyone else wished there was a cannon Yoko/Kurama vs Yomi fight? Just how we wished Yusuke and Kurama would fight at some point? (Just sparring, I can't fathom a world where Yusuke is mad enough at Kurama to fight him but who knows...) Brains vs muscle anyone?

"No matter what you do to me, I’ll never give it to you—” Hiei starts, but Youko laughs again, his eyes certain and cold. “What makes you think I want you to give me anything?” Youko tosses his hair over his shoulder and pulls out a single rose; with a flick of his wrist, the rose transforms into his signature whip. “I always take what I want.” *** 25 years before the start of canon, Hiei is searching Reikai for a relic that will help him find Hyouga. Too bad Youko Kurama gets there first. Although Hiei's always fantasized about the Legendary Bandit, he's the last person he wants to see on a heist. He has no idea that Youko's interests lie somewhere other than an ancient treasure or Hiei's hiruiseki stone. Their chance encounter ends with Hiei being imprisoned by the Spirit Fox, who treats sexual slavery like a game and plays for keeps. Trapped underground in his fox den, Hiei's taught to bend to his will, while Youko's growing affinity for his new toy leads to an unfamiliar infatuation. Together they discover that romance blooms in the most unlikely of places.

This is my first time participating in an event like this!

I was very excited and even though there were outside stress and overthinking, you have to remember to practice patience with yourself.

This was also my first time committing to a comic panel format and I’m pleased with the overall result. Something else to look forward to!

I had so much fun with this! I’m so very grateful for this fandom. Several years ago I never would have guessed it would be as long standing and wonderful as it is and has always been.

It was an honor to get paired up with such an array of talented people. 💕

I had the opportunity to work with the delightful Kai Uzui in the Yu Yu Hakusho Big Bang this year (circa 2024, @yyh-revival-big-bang)! Crossovers are my favourite genre, so it was great to work on a YYH crossover with Demon Slayer with a slight Kingdom Hearts flavour. For other crossover lovers, please enjoy Tantamount!

Summary:

Kurama's mother dies of old age. It's expected. Humans must die. They are born, they live, they build families, they love, and then they die. Humans die. ...It takes much longer for demons to die. Shiori's death triggers a path of self-destruction in Kurama's heart, and he rejects the humanity his mother taught him to go back to the Makai. He wants to go back in time before he learned the burden of human love. Ruining his friendships, there is one person who tries to hold on and save Kurama from himself. But Hiei can only hold on so long.

@yyh-revival-big-bang Hello guys! Big bang is upon us! And I decided for fun to write my very first Kurahi. ...Of course I also decided to make it super tragic too!! XD But I can promise, once you get through the angst, it does have a happy ending :D I was fortunate enough to get two very talented artists for this story, and I'm very excited about it!
