- They considered themselves "avengers" – their diaries show that they hated society and did not see a future for themselves.

- They were preparing for death – in their notes they called it NBK (Natural Born Killers) and openly wrote that they were not going to survive.

What would have happened if the bombs had gone off?

- There are many more victims (hundreds instead of 13).

- A possible assault with massive losses (they had additional booby traps).

- But the result is the same – suicide. They weren't going to give up and didn't leave any escape routes for themselves.

Conclusion:

Even if their bombs had killed hundreds of people, Harris and Klebold would still have committed suicide. Their goal was not to escape, but to make the most bloody spectacle with their own deadly ending.
