Zac Smith - Fit Model, Video Conference Production Fitting Setup from ThunderFish on Vimeo.
Video conference fits are here to stay for a while. I had been doing them at client offices for dispersed teams before the pandemic. So I came in with a short list of ideas to improve the process. This is where I am at currently and thought I would share to help any others trying to solve similar problems. - Things being shipped will likely need to be steamed - DSLRs can be tethered as your webcam - Cameras need to be able to move up and down quickly and stay level both vertically and horizontally. Get the right quick adjust tripods and holders for your devices/camera. I use two cameras, one front facing vertical iPad pro and a DSLR side view (with mirror opposite). - My laptop will have a grid view of all attendees and the front facing is pinned like a mirror as primary camera. - My laptop runs a camera remote app that I can trigger to take pictures during the fitting. - I keep various tapes, rulers, pins, seam rippers, scissors, etc handy as techs aren't on hand. - Last but perhaps most important is light, I use 2 front facing LEDs at 5.6k color temp and the overhead lights match that temp (sunlight at noon). So color is true and the feed is never grainy, shadowed or dark. #fashion #fitmodel #technicaldesign #workfromhome #wfh #design #virtual #videoconference

5Point 2018 Trailer - A Letter to All from 5Point Adventure Film Festival on Vimeo.
The annual 5Point Film Festival trailer reminds us to reach for our highest ideals and live our best adventure. This year is no different.
In 2007, Julie Kennedy founded the 5Point Film Festival. In 2012, her husband Michael Kennedy, one of America's most legendary alpinists wrote an open 'Letter to My [his] Son' that was published in The Alpinist Magazine. They were poignant and heartfelt words from a father to his son discussing life, passion and direction. After losing their son this year, it seemed like an appropriate homage to revisit and repurpose these words for the larger community. The letter reminds us to live our own individual adventures, passions, lives and to always try our best to reach for the highest ideals and embody the 5points: purpose, respect, commitment, humility, balance.
Trailer Credits Edit: Aidan Haley Narration: 'Letter to My Son' by Michael Kennedy Music: Roost - 'Big Black Delta' Music Supervisor: Backforty Mangement - Bodie Johnson + Zoe Ellis Sound Engineer: Jeff Yellen Sound Recording: Joey Schusler Special Thanks: Julie Kennedy Michael Kennedy Meaghan Lynch Meredith McKee Carl Zoch Jessica DiCarlo All The Filmmakers

TWISTED from Jay Cheel on Vimeo.
In 1996, an urban legend was born when the Can-View Drive-In was hit by a tornado during a screening of the movie Twister. The story spread throughout town and the unbelievable event was covered by national media. But what's most amazing is ... it might not have happened.
"TWISTED" is this week's Staff Pick Premiere! Read more about it here: vimeo.com/blog/post/staff-pick-premiere-twisted

Cadbury Gorilla Drummer Drums To Phil Collins from Adpressive on Vimeo.
This awesome Cadbury commercial from 2007 was an instant classic. It featured a gorilla playing the drums to “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins and is as impressive, funny, and entertaining as anything we’ve ever seen. Great marketing stands out and this commercial certainly stands out.

Southwest Arete: Grandma Peabody Boulder, Robert Wu from ThunderFish on Vimeo.
A short film I made of Robert Wu climbing the Southwest Arete of the Grandma Peabody Boulder in the Buttermilks just outside Bishop, California. I only did two shots, one from the top and one of him down climbing, full disclaimer the wide shots are reversed footage of him down climbing (efficiency in film making :-). It was unplanned, originally I thought I would just take pictures but decided to press record once I setup an anchor and saw the framing. Shot on a Sony Alpha RII with a zeiss loxia 2/50. Music is Shakey Graves - Built To Roam (Live in Lubbock). This is just something I made for fun of a fun day, enjoy.
