"Happy Christmas, Bella." Despite years of disagreements, Lucius is capable of being pleasant. A soft kiss is granted on her cheek for good measure. No one can say that he did not make an effort. Christmas after all is a time to put aside differences. Perhaps, even begin to plan new years resolutions: become more pleasant? His family can only hope.

He smells clean and sensible and like some musk that must have cost an exorbitant amount. Despite how often she found Lucius to be grating, his presence did always put her at ease. Perhaps she had come to associate him with her love for Narcissa after all these years, or perhaps she had truly come to see him as an ally to the family, to the cause. She’s still considering this as she presses red painted lips to his cheek in return, a brief touch that leaves his cheek stained with color. A pale thumb wipes him clean, the tip of a red lacquered nail just grazing the clean shaven skin. How strange it is to embrace someone these days. Everyone always feels ages away, on the other side of some vast abyss stretching into time itself. 

“Happy Christmas, Lucius. You look well.” Not that it had been so long since they had seen one another, although now that she thought about it, she couldn’t remember. Had he been home last time she’d been to visit? It didn’t matter. She turned so that he might lift her cloak from her shoulders. Surely any snow had melted from the fabric by now.

i know thanksgiving isn’t a real holiday BUT my aunt’s green bean casserole deserves a holiday all its own okay and i told her that my favorite thanksgiving was the one where she gave me ALL of the leftover green bean casserole and i ate it with EVERY. MEAL. for like... 2 weeks and it was GLORIOUS and she straight up gave me the rest of the casserole tonight and i’m SO HYPE like... she also packed me up a bunch of stuffing and potatoes and my mom gave me like a quarter of a pumpkin cream pie like... guys. i’m gonna eat like a QUEEN for WEEKS and my sister is coming tomorrow to help me put up my lights and tree and this is just... my favorite time of year and even though i’ve had a lot of obstacles in my way lately, i’m just super grateful for my family.
