had a dream that there was an official AU where it was just Giorno fighting Ghiaccio, and he won by turning some poor woman into a polar bear (or by turning a polar bear into a woman? or himself into the bear. i feel like it changed five times my dreams have shit continuity) and like the dream kept going but besides the bear girl sticking around it very quickly became not a jojo thing (or anything really) so i won’t belabor it

bad: jotaro didnt explain to jolyne that the reason he had to leave the country was to solve supernatural murders just because. as a result she grows up feeling rejected for no reason and she's unprepared for the inevitable joestar responsibilities.

good, understandable: jotaro didn't tell jolyne about solving magical muders because she didn't ask and he didn't want to explain grandpa's bullshit again

(cioccolata and secco have issues narratively/structurally and arguably morally since they’re basically a murderous predatory gay dom & sub/switch (/assistant dominant? henchmissive??) couple but like…. they’re great. i like them. rotates them in mind. unlike Requiem which is contrived albeit intriguing, the resulting King Crimson vs GER fight which is meh with one kinda interesting but way too absolute to be more than that mechanism, and Rolling Stone which i. don’t really like much at all even if i’ve gotten less hateful and contemptuous towards it. i see the theme yer going for araki and you communicated it well but i don’t really enjoy thinking about it very much.)

in my watch-along with dad the last episode we saw was Metallica v Epitaph. and just. its been like three seasons (yearly not anime. almost or maybe even a full year later…) i don’t have the heart to start him back up with Beneath A Sky On The Verge Of Falling. AND THEN AFTER THAN WE GET THE SADISM MURDER HOSPITAL ABUSE DUO

y’know, if Charmingman’s skin thing is course enough to draw blood from a cop, he could honestly end up one of the MORE proficient stand-fighters outta the jojolands cast so far. i don’t see him playing a huge role going forwards (less Polnareff or Okuyasu more Guess, though he’ll probably get SOME protagonist-side conflict focus…) but manipulating granular sand-ish stuff could go great in a confrontation beyond the visual trickery aspect
