i think what's interesting about tenna is that he has a pale looking screen - which is actually characteristic of older CRT screens!
darker screens are more desirable to have, since they offer a greater range of contrast than pale screens can offer. i honestly don't have the reason memorized off the top of my head but basically darker screens are harder to manufacture - so they started off as quite pale before people figured it out (it was earlier for black and white screens compared to color).
so anyway for color TVs (which i believe tenna is, seeing his broadcasts at the end of chapter 2) - it wouldnt be until the 90s that it became more common/widespread for CRTs to have that darker grey color. hence i believe that its VERY likely that tenna is a tv from the 80s, if not the 70s. (even though color tv goes back further ... but i doubt tenna was one of the first!)
point being this man is old <3
