Update no one asked for but I'm providing nevertheless:

I've been on a brief writing break while I do some EXTREME CLEANING™. Usually I write a little every day, and then some days I'll write a lot, but I've needed to really knuckle down with said cleaning, and then I've got other chores and a date lined up, so I'm a busy bee! I was hoping to have another chapter of Eat Your Heart Out written sooner than later, but due to the above, and having a trading soon, I've got to focus elsewhere. Rest assured, I'll be back to it as soon as I can!

I'm so so happy people have enjoyed it thusfar, as well as any other fics I've written. It always makes me smile when I get comments or asks, and Eat Your Heart Out is very cathartic for me to write as well as just fun, so having others enjoy it is just wonderful ❤️

You mentioned wanting to include the other companions eventually for Eat Your Heart Out, and I had the idea of a popular restaurant opening up and running into each other while on dates. Or, food truck festival and they would need to try every truck there? farmers market to enjoy all of nature's bounty?

I'm desperate to introduce Lae'zel. Because it's a modern AU with fantasy elements still, I think writing githyanki's as still somewhat hostile and unimpressed by earthly traditions and what not is very funny. She's lived there for years now so she's used to things, but it's the kind of disconnect an elderly relative would have where they never use the Internet and barely understand technology. She'd probably enjoy a farmers market but food trucks would be insane for her - although she'd be content in the end because Shadowheart tries everything available without complaint and Lae'zel is DEFINITELY a fan of fat goth girls 😏

It may have to be a fairly distant chapter though because Gale going on a date with Astarion/Halsin isn't something to happen for QUITE some time....but I suppose he could be on a date with someone else and bump into the others and it's all very embarrassing 😳

I guess I'm gonna low key spoil concepts I have but fuck it, it's all just fun anyway!

Gale and Rolan are mostly just work friends in the loosest way imaginable. They're both wizards who respect each other, they have similar interests, and they care about their jobs and students, but it's very surface level to begin with. Especially because Rolan used to be very much under Lorroakan's thumb even in my AU. Different circumstances, sure, but Lorroakan was a very well respected figure and sort of took advantage of Rolan's naivety to turn him into a well behaved subservient partner. They're no longer dating, but Rolan still struggles to fully enforce boundaries, and Lorroakan always hated Gale so for a while, Rolan hated him too by proxy.

But that was the past, and Gale is very understanding. He knows Lorroakan to be a slimy asshole, and he doesn't blame Rolan for any nasty behaviour he displayed while they were together.

I have ideas for them to get closer, especially because (vague mysterious spoiler in coming) Lorroakan actually knows who Astarion is and is furious that Gale is getting close to him, and because of this, he wants to turn Rolan against him. Rolan isn't under Lorroakan's charm though anymore, so it's useless, and he definitely vents to Gale about him...

That is definitely part of the plan! In my head, I intend for the AU to be a relatively slow burn, at least romantically. Gale's sexual exploration is an interesting venture he's taking, and though Astarion is more than delighted to show the wizard all there is to explore, Gale has his reservations on fully jumping in. A lot of the more explicitly sexual things won't happen until much later...

HOWEVER, there are still lots of kinks Gale can learn and WILL learn - including things Halsin will indulge that Astarion won't 😏
