Is Uber in Egypt a Safe Ride or a Ride to Harassment?
Is riding Uber Egypt safe? How Uber Egypt ensure safety for the riders? Who responsible for waking up on harassment and sexual abuse stories?  Why Uber didn’t take actions and fail in applying appropriate safety strategies even after knowing about previous sexual crimes?  Through scrolling on social media all of these questions need to be answered people are worriedespecially after two harrowing cases stand out. Let’s talk about the topic in details and explore the truth of Uber's place in our society, safety, and responsibility.
After reading about Habiba’s death I was really disappointed from Uber actions and heartbroken. Habiba Al-Shamaa is 24 years old graduated from the Faculty of Media from a British university, and works in the field of furniture and decor. People know Habiba as (the girl from Shorouk) this young girl lost her life because on the hands of an Uber driver. The accident starts when the driver tries to kidnap her causing her to throw herself out of the speeding car. After being in coma for 21 days sadly she lost her life. The way that Habiba’s father cried because of the loss of his daughter saying “I can’t believe yet that she has left me.” Could you imagine how the fear and the panic that Habiba felt surround her when she jumped in the street. People are waiting form Uber to take proper action after this crime and apply new safety regulations for ensuring ride-sharing service. In my opinion safety is the most important thing for any company what I’m concerned about Uber obvious disrespect for these serious accusations. It’s obvious for all the people that their safety is not guaranteed while using Uber. What is really shocking that second accident incident of the Tagamoa woman who was assaulted by an Uber driver. Amr Adib the famous TV presenter was direct in his show program Al-Hekaya questioningUber " Whose son is Uber in Egypt?, Who are the people that Uber is accountable to? , Who is responsible for making sure that they are held responsible, and the last women died and nothing was done". These questions and more similar to all of the Egyptian’s especially for the customers who really need Uber in their daily life. Let’s tell more information what Sallysaid the sister of the lady from El Tagammo in phone call “Al-Hekaya” program. She said that her sister was going to wedding she choose for her the best available driver but minutes later she was surprised by a call from her sister asking her to cancel the trip. She said that her sister was surprised when the driver stopped in an empty area saying that he was was thirsty then he attacked her with knife trying to assault her. She was able to escape from the car and run into the desert until Lori's driver helped her and took her to a safe place. After addressing all of this accidents do you will trust Uber again.
In the end for all the reasons above Uber need to take a proper action regain our trust. Indeed, Uber introduced anti-harassment training for drivers but this is not enough. They should do more like drug testing every month, check on their criminal records, and stronger driver selection. If Uber wants to keep our safety as a top priority they should apply this action’s to ensure that every ride is safe.

From the Nile to the Nile: Building Bridges, Not Walls, for Sudanese Migrants
The continuous political and economic problems in Sudan has led to to a large number of Sudanese migrants into neighboring Egypt.  While some Egyptians are worried about how it will effect on economy and safety, I think a more humane and collaborative approach would be better. By seeing Sudanese migrants as an opportunity rather than a burden, Egypt can make a win-win situation for the two countries.
The problem comes from Sudan's continuous economic and political problems. Years of instability, war, and poverty have led many Sudanese to look for place of safety and opportunity over the border in Egypt. Egyptians are no strangers to tough times, so understanding the tough situation of their Sudanese neighbors is easy. Instead of agreeing to discrimination or fear, Egypt should take a more welcoming and positive approach.
Firstly, it is important to appreciate the two countries' historical and cultural relations.   Egypt and Sudan have a long history, with strong connections. Developing on these shared relations can increase understanding and empathy.
Secondly, knowing the economic impact of Sudanese migrants is important. Many Sudanese migrants occupy major labor shortages in the Egyptian labor market, especially in low-paid fields such as agriculture and construction. Registration of their legal status and giving them work licenses can protect their rights while also making sure of a supply of labor for Egyptian companies. But in addition to the jobs. Sudanese people bring their own unique culture, music, and cuisine. Egyptians have the opportunity to learn new skills and interact with individuals from various backgrounds.
Also, blending Sudanese migrants into Egyptian society can benefit both cultures.   Sudanese migrants have a variety of skills, traditions and expertise that can add to Egypt's culture and society. Establishing cultural exchange programs and inter-community talks can help minimize gaps in understanding and encourage a society that is more welcoming.
Of course, difficulties continue to exist. Egypt is facing economic challenges, and making sure people have access to essential services is a top priority.  However, focusing on cooperation could result in beneficial results. Global aid organizations can play an important role in helping Egypt accommodate Sudanese migrants and offer them with the fundamental necessities and money.
Also, cooperative development projects between Egypt and Sudan could deal with the true reasons of migration. Sudan's people can benefit from investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and economic development.  A well-off Sudan will lower migration and promote stability in the region.
The Sudanese migrants create both difficulties and opportunity.  By giving priority to sympathy over hatred and cooperation over division, Egypt can be able to achieve beneficial result. Sudanese immigration can benefit Egypt's economy and society, while Egypt can help Sudanese development projects, supporting future peace and security. In the end, the people of Sudan and Egypt are like neighbors on the same river, the Nile. When one neighbor struggles, the other should lend a hand. By working together, both countries can become stronger and more successful. The flows of the Nile have always linked both these countries; it is time to create bridges in order to get past this current together.

Whispers in the Desert: The Legacy of Hakawati Storytelling
Standfirst - In the middle of busy Middle Eastern cities and the silence of the deserts, an ancient tradition exists. Bedouin storytellers, known as, Hakawatis, are professional storytellers who tell stories of magic, the past, and wisdom, protecting their cultural heritage. But can their voices still be heard today?
Imagine a gathering under a sky of stars, with a crackling fire.  A mesmerizing Bedouin sits cross-legged, and their tone is rich and remarkable as they tell a story of brave heroes, wicked spirits, and the everlasting life of people.  The hakawati is an important part of Middle Eastern storytelling tradition that makes sure the tales and knowledge of the past aren't lost to the sands of time.
Hakawatis, which means "storyteller" in the Arabic language, have been a staple of Middle Eastern culture and the keepers of Bedouin history for generations.  They move from town to town and camp to camp, telling ancient tales handed down throughout centuries. These tales, which usually come with poetry and songs, entertain while also teach and protect cultural bravery, traditions, and social rules. Topics like honor, commitment, and fighting bad luck create a deep connection with listeners, creating a strong sense of community.
However, the dynamic environment of the Middle East threatens this old art tradition.  The radio, the television, and the internet offer other types of entertainment, while increased development and technological advancement provide less opportunity for traditional storytelling gatherings.
regardless of these challenges, passionate hakawatis and cultural groups continue to work constantly to make sure the continuing existence of this heritage. Storytelling festivals and meetings are formed to educate younger generations about the cultural tradition of hakawati, while online platforms and recordings allow these stories to be shared with more people.
Also, hakawatis are updating their writings so it speaks with today's audiences. While ancient tales are still important, some hakawatis are including modern topics and modern issues into their stories in order to keep them relevant in a changing society.
The effect of hakawati storytelling reaches farther than entertainment reasons.  These stories share a view into past times, showing the lives of nomadic groups and the values that defined a civilization. Hakawati stories are a great source for those who are studying pre-Islamic Arabia, revealing insights on social norms, religious beliefs, and even trading routes. Additionally, the practice of telling stories shows the power of stories and the importance of protecting heritage in an era of modernity.
The future of Bedouin storytelling isn't without challenges, but there are reasons to be hopeful.  The pulling force of these stories, the unique cultural experience they provide, and the dedication of the people who keep the tradition alive all show a bright future for the hakawati. These storytellers' stories continue creating magic in busy markets, underneath skies, and on online platforms, making sure that the whisper in the desert carry the echoes of a growing cultural heritage for future generations.
