Dazai and the striped shirt

Dazai always wears a white shirt with black stripes under his vest and his coat in the manga. And in other arts with him in casual clothes, he is often seen wearing one too. I just realized that it might have been done on purpose, because it reminds me of an interesting comment from Harukawa35 in “Bungo Stray Dogs Rakugaki” when drawing Odasaku: “Actually Asagiri-sensei was the one who wanted Odasaku in a black shirt with white stripes. And I think both of us came up with this look without realizing, but as a result, it turned out to be a design that Dazai-san seemed to have imitated later on.”

Fun fact: In Dazai Osamu’s Entrance Exam stage play, Tawada Hideya (Dazai’s actor) plays voices for almost all the characters that actually appear on stage, including the taxi driver, Miss Sasaki, the bomber, the hacker boy and the guy at the Public Security Bureau. The lines are not pre-recorded so he actually learnt everyone’s lines and spoke it directly on stage while switching between voices.

And did I mention Kunikida got so scared of ghosts inside the abandoned building he hid himself under Dazai’s coat?

SixTONES went down freaking Takeshita Dori street in Harajuku!!! I’m actually pretty impressed they chose to do that and they didn’t get mobbed by fans or anything. That street is crazy packed usually cause it’s so famous. I want to see them walking the streets in Tokyo for Youtube one day lol. 

What I actually really love about their Youtube channel is it shows how normal they really are. I love that they do pretty normal things that other young people would do like Purikura and get excited by rainbow food and whatnot. Like it feels like they aren’t celebrities on tv, but just normal young guys in their early 20′s. I think part of the reason they are like this is because though they have been in entertainment for 10+ years, they weren’t super famous or recognized until now by non-fans. So I feel like they got to lead at least semi-normal-ish lives growing up through their teens, which I feel like grounded them in a sense. It must feel nice to finally get noticed though as a celebrity though even by guys too. They kept saying it’s pronounced “stones”, not “six tones”, “please remember us”. I feel like this is a time they will look back on and cherish a lot. I really glad that the agency let them continue their Youtube channel even though they debuted. 

I’ve actually been to Harajuku several times, so it’s pretty fun for me seeing them go to places I’ve also been too. I want them to go to an animal cafe next hahaha. They love animals anyways based off of the number of times they’ve been to zoos and animal parks lol.
