As for how to start drawing, I think the important thing is to have something you want to express. In my case, I indulge in some ships and want to continue telling their stories. These pictures come to my mind, and I draw them—it happens naturally. If you need some more practical advice: Just pick up the pen and go for it. Don’t worry too much. Overthinking limits your creativity.

If you ever feel discouraged because drawing feels too hard or frustrating to keep going —my advice is: find something you truly love.When there’s something you want to express from your heart, that desire will push you to pick up the pen.Then, while you’re working on one specific drawing, you can start solving problems as they come up. Bit by bit, you’ll improve — and “starting to draw” won’t feel so heavy anymore.

And lastly!! I just wanna say—like, I’m pretty sure you’ve seen this kind of advice before (or already kinda know it deep down), but the reason why it’s hard to actually start drawing is usually something really simple…It’s just that there’s something inside you that’s hard to get past — like perfectionism, or feeling like you’re not good at drawing certain things.Honestly, I still struggle with that too. But I’m trying my best to work through it.
