I've been building a custom neighborhood called Wavehill for a few weeks now. I made the map myself in Sim City 4 and while I'm by no means great at this, I still like how it turned out. Now I'm slowly building houses, community lots and of course sim families to populate the neighborhood with.
Wavehill consists of 5 levels:
On the top level, close to the mountains, I have placed a graveyard lot in the middle. It's still empty, because so far noone has died. (Yet. :3) On the left side I'll build a few fancy lot for rich families. On the right I'm planning residential areas for eco-friendly sims.
The second level is where most of the community lots are/will be. Theres a business district with a few apartment units, a culture area for parks, museums, ect., and an entertainment district with clubs, bars and restaurants.
The third level will be mostly residential lots. So far it's mainly starter houses and apartments.
The fourth level is still empty, but I want to build some industrial lots there. Maybe some really run-down apartments as well.
Finally, the fifth layer, by the sea, will have some beach lots.

A while ago I managed to get Sims 2 to run on my computer again, and I honestly haven't touched Sims 4 since then. As much as I like CAS and build mode in that game, the actual gameplay never was as much fun to me. But I still have some old Sims 4 screenshots drafted, so I think I'll put them in the queue in case someone enjoys them.

I don't remember why I made a giant freezer bunny or why I placed it on an empty map called Loneliness, but the pic certainly has a weird vibe.

I was browsing old IKEA catalogues from 1995-2004 for autism reasons, trying to find an old IKEA throw blanket I had that I cannot find confirmation had ever existed on any IKEA index outside of it being in my memories and on a chair I own. (I found it, btw.)
I accidentally stumbled across something rather... controversy-inducing.
A lot of The Sims 2's furniture is just 90s IKEA.
No, not just the IKEA stuff pack - that's mid-2000s IKEA, get it right! I mean 1990s IKEA.
Canopy crib, anyone?
I'll add more in a reblog, but those are nearly 1:1 with items in TS2.
The catalogues online are in Swedish but I have the English versions in storage in my garage. Besides the language change and a few small differences local to Sweden such as locations, colours, offers, and prices, the furniture was identical around the world.

My political activist mermaid trans sim called Zen only greets people by beguiling them and asking them to join his cause to everyone on the entire island, this dude is about to start an small empire. He started a protest by himself and loads of women turned up in bikinis..? This was before anyone really knew him. This guy is living the life rn. Two people have crushes on him I don’t remember talking to. He owns a dolphin and a boat and lives in the smallest shack on the island full of things he’s collected on the beach. He never wins karaoke.
