As a final test, I had a 500GB SSD from another computer that I attached as an external USB3 drive, and did a clean install of Sierra on it and proved the graphics for BZflag were Smooth and working as expected. I've been in contact with a developer for one of the games (BZflag) and they believe the problem lies with the Intel Graphics HD 4000 on High Sierra (which would explain why there is no issue on the older 2010 MacBook Pro. I also have a 13" MacBook Pro 2010 and it has no problems with these same games on High Sierra. Next I did a clean install of High Sierra and found the same issue again. I went back to Sierra (restore from Time Machine) and the problem was again gone. There were no problems with this laptop on Sierra (10.12.6), only after an upgrade to High Sierra. I have a 13" MacBook Pro mid-2012 (MacBookPro9,2) with 16GB memory, and 1TB SSD, that I upgraded to High Sierra (10.13.2), and found that a couple of games I play are basically unplayable due to the refresh rate and jerkiness of the graphics.

Available as a general benefit and supplemented by special hero abilities, the Orcs' magic resistance means they won't have to rush the casters in the enemy's back line just to stay alive. The second thing that helps the Orcs deal with more versatile enemies is their profound magic resistance. A number of special, unit-specific abilities kick in at certain Rage levels as well, further helping the Orcs to stand firm against powerful enemies. Go too long without hitting anything and the Rage will bleed away. This new ability basically rewards Orc units with damage resistance points every time they engage in melee combat. It works because of two special abilities. Sure, they have Centuar archers and goblin trappers who can strike from a distance, but for the most part, the warriors and Cyclops and Pao Kais will be fighting with their enemies face to face. For one thing, they don't use magic and rely on powerful melee units to get the job done. The Orcs themselves play very differently than any of the other factions in the game. Unfortunately, that's pretty much the point at which we stopped finding our sets.Īnd after you've explored all that in the Necro campaign, it's finally time to get a little Orc loving. The completed set brings some cool new bonuses but the main benefit to having an entirely matched set of magic items is that you won't be pulling your hair out looking for that last piece.
