People who pride themselves on their normalcy paradoxically also want to stand out and be viewed as unique individuals at the same time, while they dress, talk, act, and behave like everyone else, they want their normalcy to be revolutionary in part because they make a frequent habit of constantly contrasting themselves against everyone that doesn't fit into conventional boxes so often, that they really come to believe that degeneracy and freakishness is rampant and taking over when it's just not, and that they're the ones who are in the margins by being normal, which causes them to feel persecuted for their normalcy, even while remaining in the majority and meticulously adhering to mainstream social, gender, and behavioral conventions

Also, they view adhering to normalcy as a type of obedience to society's values and they view obedience itself as a direct measurement of how much moral worth they have as a person, and come to feel like they should get rewards or special privileges for behaving, acting, and presenting in the ways society tells them to, and are thus more likely to view themselves as better and more moral than people who defy these norms

Which, when this reward cycle is reinforced, makes them start to see anyone who acts outside these conventions as being disobedient, and therefore deserving of punishment and discipline...

....so now you can kind of see how people get to a point where they perceive queerness and oddness and strangeness in people and interpret it as unruly, disobedient, defiant behavior that must be "corrected" in some way, and how this view on discipline, obedience, and punishment has been twisted into fucked up apologia for horrible oppressive behavior

Why do cats hate closed doors?

Rewatching SVTFOE made me realize Festivia is a secretly tragic character.

Don’t get me wrong, Meteora def went through a lot of abuse from being taken from her family and left in the care of a psycho robot. But I feel like Festivia was also a victim.

Cuz imagine growing up while being told your parents were eaten by monsters who are warring against your kingdom. Oh and your mother was also the queen of darkness who betrayed your kingdom by marrying and running off with a monster, leaving you and your people to fend for themselves.

Edit: I realize how contradicting that sounds since why would they lie to Festi that Eclipsa was eaten by a monster when her tapestry exists and literally says she ran off with him? Maybe they said she was eaten after running away?

You have to work extra hard to prove to them that your nothing like your traitor mother and can be trusted, all the while trying to protect them from constant monster attacks and having 0 knowledge on how to actually lead a kingdom cuz you have no mother figure/former queen to guide you. All you have are a group of reckless magic users who give awful advice and only see you as a puppet to promote their racist agenda that’s fueling this never-ending war in the first place. They spoon feed lies about your origin and identity just so they can mold you into their ideal image of a queen.

The worst part is that she died without knowing this and genuinely believing the MHC only wanted what was best for her (maybe they did to some extent but let’s be real, they more saw her as a tool)

It’s no wonder Festivia was always getting wasted and throwing parties. She was trying to not only distract her people from the stress of monsters, but also distract herself from the stress/trauma of her life!

Maybe I’m just looking too deep into her character cuz I have a soft spot for her. But I feel like both Meteora and Festivia were put through different harsh environments to live up to toxic expectations of a proper woman. They ended up growing into different people as a result of their awful upbringings. Meteora a revenge-seeking woman fueled by trauma. And Festivia a toxic positivity queen who parties as an escape her trauma.

In short, FUCK THE MAGIC HIGH COMMISSION

Chat they made Minecraft into a silly goofy cringe movie even through Minecraft is actually about life and earth and the universe and tearing meaning out of the ground and molding it with your hands into something that you can be proud of. They made the pink sheep look ugly and funny for a cheap laugh when it should’ve been a beautiful moment where you, age eleven, come across this rarity, this beautiful anomaly and you hold its face in your hands and stare into its chocolate brown eyes and you realize what the whole world is about.
