when i was in college, i had this subject about photography that I hated with all my heart. i hated it because i don't really know how to take photos and because photography itself is (for me) too subjective and random. the thing was that, in addition to the practices we had to do in class, we had to make a photographic series on our own as a final project. anyways, the end of the term came and i was, frankly, screwed. all my practices had a shitty grade and the exam... is better not to mention the exam. at this point, i was pretty sure that i was going to fail, but i still decided to do the photo series because i’m not a person who likes to just give up; so i bought a cheap camera (yes, i didn't have a camera of my own) and started to think about what should i do. i considered doing it about people or things like that, but if i was going to fail, at least i was going to fail my way. so i decided to try and translate all the frustration and feelings i had and this came out: a trash series. literally. a series about trash. this was the first time that i used an SLR camera by myself. well, so turns out, my teacher loved it, and not only did i pass the subject thanks to this photographic series, but i also managed to understand what photography really was about
