i. a bike. fuel is expensive! also, it’s excellent exercise. it has an attachable basket so you and mideo can ride together! (and we can go on bike dates. by the way, if you don’t know how to ride a bike, i’ll teach you. it’ll be cute).  ii. couple sweaters. winter is coming soon. obviously the white one is yours. unless you really want the black one- in which case, we can trade. iii. a cake! it’s pretty small so you can have the whole thing. you’re the birthday boy after all.  iiii. i know you have like probably 500 plushies by now, but i know you adore them. to remind you of your bulbaseol, my snorlayx.

It was the simplicity of it all that drove her mad. Seolhyun was never searching for a great love- it had fallen onto her lap without a moment’s notice. Being with him was fire. It both burned her and warmed her up at the same time. When she looked at him she felt happy. Complete. Whole. She was jealous of those who spent time with him when she wasn’t around. He wasn’t a perfect man, but she wasn’t a perfect woman either. It was the feeling of knowing someone would always be with her at the end of the day. Now, despite their long schedules, they had one another. And that was all that mattered.

Accepting the presents, she looked at them happily. The gifts might have been small in his eyes but to her they were infinite. Sniffing the flowers, she accepted the envelope and looked inside. “Ah, we sound nice right? You didn’t have to edit me too much?” she giggled, her cheeks red and her heart soaring. “I love them,” she mumbled softly to herself. Her mind was reeling- words threatening to leave her lips. I love you. She wanted to say it, to let it out. He had to know by now how she felt- how he made her feel. “It’s beautiful. It’s amazing. You’re… amazing,” she mumbled stupidly. “I’m sorry, I’m getting emotional.”

Deciding it was her turn to give him her present, she smiled and handed him a small box. Inside it lay a simple present- a cute shirt to remind them of today- of their fairy tale love. On the bottom of a box, was a small letter where her words were written. “To Yixing. I know we haven’t been together for a long time, but you make me so incredibly happy. I know sometimes it’s hard to be together because of our jobs and other schedules- but I hope you know you’re always on my mind. When something happens, I want to tell you about it. I can’t count how many times I think to myself ‘I wish Yixing oppa could see this.’ To many more anniversaries to come. Your girl, Seolhyun.”

He carefully unwrapped her present, his smile seeming to be permanently plastered on his face. He pulled back the paper wrapping, pulling the shirt out, chuckling at such a smart idea. “I love it babe. We can wear it whenever we go out,” he grinned, reaching back into the box to find a cutely written letter. He opened it, taking in each word. He knew how much love and care and thought had gone into her present and he wanted to absorb the moment in its entirety. Every emotion, every feeling, every word. His eyes went over the words countless times, his heart and mind soaring. He gently placed her present on the table, taking both her hands to pull her up, taking her face in his hands. “I dont know why you were so nervous about your present,” he chuckled softly, stroking her cheek, holding her against him. “It was clever babe.” He kissed her nose, pulling back just enough to take in this moment as well. The way she looked under the light of stars and candles, the way his heart began racing, his palms becoming clammy. “I- I dont know how to say this. I’m not that great with words...especially when I have to describe how I feel. I- um-” he blushed, glancing at his feet and back up at her. “One month went by so quickly but it also felt like a lifetime. I’m s-so honored to be your boyfriend and I promise your happiness is my priority. E-ever since I’ve been with you, each day is bright and filled with that happiness I haven’t experienced in a while...and I’ve been dying to tell you this...because words can’t even describe accurately the feeling. Kim Seolhyun, my beautiful princess, I love you. I love you so much and there’s no one I’d rather be standing with right now.” He looked into her eyes lovingly, his heart beating at a speed he’d never thought possible. Even his breathing became ragged as he leaned in, pressing his lips against hers, kissing deeply the woman he loved.
