In the Middle of it all !As we age, the hind sight gets sharper. Older memories become more vivid. Forgetting immediate past and recalling distant past in minutest detail is what we see in very old people. But that it begins to manifest itself in middle age, is what I'm now discovering.Another reason why this is called the middle age.Not yet there, where we can look back and view the bigger picture and make sense of why things happened the way they did. But beginning to get a hang of it. Taking cues and learning to accept and to learn to let the mystery of life unfold itself. When and when not to and in what measure to let go and to persevere. Of course, you will never get it right and all sorted because that's against the very principle of life. It is only meant to make sense in hind sight. That's why hind sight is 20/20.Middle age is when you're beginning to learn the language. You're learning the alphabet of life. Getting equipped to decode. And so, by now, we realise why we need to listen and absorb all that the senior generation has to share. Just as one can't bear to keep within a good joke you've heard, a good story and a deep revelation. You want to share the new found wisdom with all. Do you remember when we learnt something new at school, we wanted to share our new found knowledge with one and all. Little realising that this knowledge has existed much before we came into existence.Middle age is when you're also in the middle of two generations. The sandwiched generation. We are the butter, the cheese , the filling. It shows on our girth, is a reminder or confirmation. It's okay, it's not the end of the world.Been there, done thatWe tell our kidsAnd are promptly told off by the parentsWhen we fret and fumeWe've been given the alphabetThe old have the scriptRetrospect is the alphabetIntrospect is the grammarAnd life is waiting to be decoded
